On the Russian plant GAZ continued to improve their development and the Tirg car was released and offered to work in special forces. This car was first evaluated in the Moscow SOBR in the performance of SPM-1 with the protection of the 3rd class of the Russian GOST, SPM-2 and other modifications.

Inside, this car looks more casual than it first appears. So, for example, there are all the same speedometer and tachometer and the transmission control levers are located on the central tunnel. It is already clear that this is a domestic answer to the Hummers, which are also distinguished by luxury.

The panel looks unusual, because the main instruments are located on the dashboard, and the secondary ones are placed above the center console, which the designers prudently raised above the floor. Based on the size, one can easily conclude that back rows, of which there are two, plenty of space. Perhaps the SUV has no competitors on domestic market, but it’s not so easy to buy the civilian version of the GAZ 2330 Tiger, since each car that is produced at AMZ has already been ordered by a specific buyer, so you have to queue up.

As mentioned above, the development took only a year and a half. Such short term justified by the fact that most of the details were taken from the BTR-80. For example, if you look closely, you can find wheels from this technique, which are equipped with auto-pumping with a digital controller.

We will not talk about the suspension, it is almost completely borrowed from the armored personnel carrier. It is worth noting that the depth of the ford to be overcome is an incredible 1.2 meters. The engine is multi-fuel and produces 215 horses. But that's not all. The main advantage of the domestic power unit over the foreign one is the torque of 700 Nm.

Of course, the monster's expense is also appropriate. Cruising speed the car is 60 km / h, and the maximum is 160. in the first case, the consumption of diesel fuel does not exceed 35 liters. The maximum speed of a car with such an engine does not exceed 140 km / h. The manufacturer claims consumption within 15 liters. To be honest, for an almost 6-liter engine, this is crazy nonsense, even though it is diesel. According to a few owners, the consumption exceeds 25 liters, and if you cross the mark of 100 km / h, you can go up to 40 liters per hundred kilometers. What to believe is not at all clear. However, you can choose an average value. It should also be noted that Tiger buyers are unlikely to be concerned about such a characteristic as consumption.

GAZ Tiger is a multi-purpose SUV designed Russian concern GAZ and released to the consumer market in 2002. Mention should also be made of the GAZ-233034 Tiger, which is a modification of the civilian Tiger, but already for the needs of the police. It has the third class of ballistic protection, has special shutters in armored glass, through which you can conduct aimed shooting.

Design

The car is designed to transport people and various goods on roads and off-road. It is a frame structure chassis that carries the main part of the units and the body. The center differential lock is activated by a button on the panel, and the lowering transmission row is activated by a lever. Cross-axle differentials - cam, self-locking. Borrowed from the armored personnel carrier, as well as the wheel suspension itself on double wishbones. In addition, a centralized wheel inflation system was also taken from the armored personnel carrier.

The body of the armored versions of the "Tiger" is welded from heat-treated armor plates 5 mm thick (7 mm for SPM-2), after which it is tempered to relieve internal stresses. Armored vehicle heavier than usual, with a steel body, by 700 kg. The armored body turned out to be so strong that it was possible to completely do without a separate frame, like on armored personnel carriers. But in order to unify the armored body made removable. So on the same chassis you can install different bodies- closed passenger, armored, with cargo platform. "Tiger" can carry one and a half tons of cargo.
