What is more profitable car or taxi. What is more profitable: taxi or personal car. Movement without your own car: what to choose

I recently got right. Automotive.

Today I went to the city on one petty, but important thing.

Thoughts appeared along the way. And here I was the toad.

Suppose that I live in a "tribe", let's say that I "film" in the cinema "Lena". Suppose that I have 50 tr. And once again we assume that I have an old, but well-groomed and economical Toyota Corolla 94 G.V.

Let my "Correll" lightens on average about 15 liters per 100 km.

Calculate and compare my transportation costs before and after receiving car rights.

So, mathematics are extremely simple:

100 km = 15 liters = 15 l x 45 p / l = 675 R.

1 km of way on my "Corolla" costs 6.75 rubles. Let it be 7 rubles, with our traffic jams on the roads.

Since I work in Lena and live on the "tribe", then I drive about 20 km on a bus route every day, one way. It costs me 18 rubles.

Now I have a car - and it costs 20 km x 7 p / km = 140 rubles one way.

Then in the evening I go back - it's on the bus worth 18 rubles. On your own car - again 140 rubles.

Suppose I still have a child, it must be needed in a kindergarten in the morning. There is also the second - it is necessary to go to school.

My wife works in the city. It must also be taken.

So, per day, my minimum on gasoline leaves 500 rubles somewhere.

Per month is 500 p. x 30 days = 15 tr.

Now Indraiver. Suppose that hour payment is my 600 r. at one o'clock. Suppose I'm going without a break.

In the city, the average speed of cars is 40 km / h.

40 km x 7 r / km = 280 rubles.

Profit my hour Endraiver ride = 600 - 280 = 320 p.

Suppose that per day I am absorbed 5 such hours = 5 hours x 320 p. = 1600 p.

Per month net profit (excluding benzine) 1600 x 30 days = 48 tr.

But, damn, for this "Indraver", I will have every day for 5 hours to plow and "coffin" by my Corolla.

At the same time earning less than a film mechanic.

And this is not considering Depreciation for the car.

I'd rather I will be a filmmaker on "Lena" and every day on the bus "Go")))

Why do I need your car with such work?

And the wife and children are with them how to be?

The conclusion is one - in order to ride on your car, you need this car to work out your money, and it worked well.

Second - to have a wife and children to have a car, you need to work and make a lot more than a regular film mechanic)))

It turns out another conclusion.

The city is profitable(including Yakutsk) to normal citizen used everywhere and everywhere public transport. The benefit is huge, see for yourself:

Less cars - less extension of roads. Less accidents. Then part of the money allocated to the repair of roads can be used for the purchase of good municipal buses.

To stimulate it - you can pass through this bus to reduce up to 10 rubles. And everyone will ride on the municipalles, and the mayor of rubbing hands - and the sheep are brought away, and the wolves alone only municipal)))

No private routes =)

The company of my friend in the crisis has ceased to pay for parking spaces for employees. Now for the parking lot in the center of Moscow, he pays 1940 rubles a day (work with a replaceable schedule 1/3). Simple arithmetic after a week transplanted it on a taxi - 1,500 rubles from the house in the near Moscow region and back. While a familiar fights with the authorities for the place for the car, we calculated that it is more profitable: getting to work on a taxi or get a personal car.

The obvious answer, which voiced the heroine of the Soviet film about a taxi and bun, did not satisfy us. Moreover, our (no longer Soviet, and Russian) contemporaries on a taxi very much even go to the cinema, and in Ikea and to the clinic.

Budget 1: Taxi

We will immediately open the mystery: the answer to the question "which is more profitable" depends on the city, more precisely from taxi tariffs. Machine maintenance depends rather from its class than from location. To calculate, we study the cost of traveling by car in three categories: "Comfort", "Business" and "Premium".

In Moscow and St. Petersburg, we considered the prices of travel for 40 minutes (getting somewhere faster in peak hours unreal) or 30 km. In other cities - trips for 15 minutes or 15 km. Our passenger rides work and back 5 times a week, i.e. On average, 21 days per month.

We get this tablet of monthly taxi expenses:

Moscow St. Petersburg Yekaterinburg Voronezh Novosibirsk
Comfort 32 340 R. 34 020 R. 13 650 R. 9 240 R. 16 800 R.
Business 54 978 R. 56 700 R. 20 580 R. 17 850 R. 26 250 R.
Premium 77 616 R. 75 600 R. 23 100 R. 63 000 R. 61 340 R.

In Moscow and St. Petersburg it is more profitable to have their own car. Even expensive, even with full Casco. Is that the car is needed a couple of times a week - then more profitable taxis.

Budget 2: Machine

Calculate the spending of the same passenger for servicing your own car. The calculation includes insurance and parking (10% of the cost), sink once a week and spending on gasoline:

Budget cars Family car Business class
Prices 400 000 R. 800 000 R. 1 600 000 r
Parking expenses for the year 46 000 R. 87 000 R. 168 000 R.
Petrol 3 000 R. 5 000 R. 10 000 R.
Sink 3 times a month 900 R. 1 350 R. 1 620 R.
Total per month 7 733 R. 14 050 R. 25 620 R.

Calculation for pragmatists

Now only numbers: in Moscow and St. Petersburg with their traffic jams, distances and prices for taxis, it is more profitable to have their own car. Even expensive, even with full Casco. Use a taxi for daily trips is too consumed: expenses are comparable with medium salary in the city (in 2015 - 60 thousand rubles). And if instead of riding a taxi "Premium", buy your own business class car, its cost, taking into account the service pays off after two years and six months.

But if the car is just needed a couple of times a week: return home from the bar on Friday and on Saturday to take the bags from the shopping center, it is more profitable to ride a taxi. Consumption for travel on weekends (8 days a month) in Comfort does not exceed 12 thousand per month, it is cheaper than the maintenance of the machine of the average price category.

Bonus: No need to score the head of the change of rubber, repair and extension of insurance.

In the cities of smaller, where a taxi trip does not take more than 15-20 minutes, it is more profitable to ride a taxi than to contain an expensive car, equivalent to the content of the middle class machine and more expensive than riding a budget car. So the choice between a taxi and the machine depends on what car you want to buy. If its cost is less than 800 thousand, take - it will be cheaper than riding a taxi. Machines are more expensive only if they ride them every day (including weekends) over long distances.

For the "weekend" trips, buying a car in Yekaterinburg, Voronezh and Novosibirsk did not justify itself. Consider themselves: the family in Yekaterinburg, which enjoys a taxi 8 days a month (every Saturday and Sunday) will spend 1300 rubles. Even a used Russian car without insurance will be twice again from the family budget.

In other cities, a taxi is more profitable than expensive car.

Calculation for romantics

And now we will distract from the numbers and compare, what advantages prepare us both options. After all, we will not say, for a taxi do not wave with friends to Peter for the weekend. But the gray "Nissan" at the restaurant on the first date looks not so romantic as a yellow car with "checkers".

 1. Consider how many times a month you need a car.
 2. Calculate the average cost of the trip, for example, to work and back.
 3. Separate Count Count the cost (CASCO + OSAGO) and the cost of parking, if your office has a paid, fee for the sink, shifting the wheels and add 3-5% on the unforeseen expenses of the type of turning light bulb.
 4. Calculate the difference between all trips for the month and car service.
 5. Count, for how many months you will pay in the car.

The idea of this material and the heading suggested life. We often go before weekend with friends and discuss all sorts of things, recently argued that it is more profitable in Moscow - to use our own car or taxi services. The discussion turned out to be controversial, with a bunch of arguments both, and against. It seemed important to render such a discussion on a wider audience to realize whether there was a new trend in the market when people consciously refuse personal machines, or those of several dozen people I know this exception to the rules and such a trend is not yet observed. Since this is a pilot material, it is not clear that it will work out, and it is interesting to see where we will lead our discussion of the topic in the comments. But let's start and start out the background.

Why Moscow, prerequisites for discussion chosen

The choice of Moscow as a point of reference is not accidental, there are several reasons for that. First, Moscow is the largest city of Russia, and in one or another, such processes can occur in other 14 millionnic cities, albeit a little later. Secondly, the easiest way to discuss the place where you live and watching every day, knowing all the minutes and advantages of the organization of transport, both personal and public.

Some statistics - according to the information of the metropolitan department of transport and development of road infrastructure, 60,000 taxi drivers worked at the beginning of 2017, on the beginning of 2017, 715 thousand passengers are transported. During the year, a taxi car drives 120,000 kilometers, and the average age of taxis is 2.8 years old. The middle check when traveling in Moscow - 498 rubles. Time waiting per hour of peak - from 5 to 7 minutes.

Remembering how things were dealing with a taxi in Moscow for ten years ago, pleasantly surprised by evolution - a lot of cars, waiting time is minimal. The taxi works a large number of immigrants from Asia, the names of drivers unequivocally indicate this. But, as a rule, the presence of a navigator and the overall loading of the roads make trips to simple and understandable, no confusing routes in the yards, no special tricks to get more. Since I use a taxi quite often, I believe that in Moscow this service is at a very good level and relatively inexpensive.

At the same time, Moscow City Hall took the course that the residents of the capital refuse personal transport. Significant efforts for this:

 • Paid parking, expanding zone of paid parking;
 • Highlighted bands for public transport and penalties for violation of markup;
 • Reducing parking spaces for transport in walking distance from places of cluster of people;
 • Increase in the number of routes for public transport, renewal of the park of buses and trolleybuses, forecasting the arrival of transport;
 • Reducing the roadway for the main highways of Moscow, which was started in the summer of 2017 and the subsequent transport collapse in the fall of 2017 for those who use personal cars.

This is not a complete list of what is happening in Moscow with roads and machines, but there are still official statistics, which claims that, according to the results of 2016, traffic jams in Moscow decreased by a quarter. Unfortunately, neither the methodology that the mayor's office uses nor previous estimates and their accuracy is unknown to us. As a person who spends on the road most of the working time, I can note that on my routes when traveling on a private car, the time has increased by an average of 10-15% compared to what happened. Plus there were traffic jams that have never been before and in which you can simultaneize an hour and more. As it relates to official statistics, it is not clear to me, but it's not about it. The highlighted transport bands are practically guaranteed to enable the main traffic jams and choose those routes where they are not. For example, to drive from Leninsky Prospekt to Pushkin Square on a day off without traffic jams about 20 minutes, on a weekday it is already 40-45 minutes at a minimum. At the same time, on a taxi, the trip will take the highlighted band of 25-30 minutes, since there are almost no bottlenecks on the way. Muscovites are increasingly reaching their cars to the subway and throw cars somewhere to pick them up in the evening. Also when traveling to the center, many use a taxi, as it turns out faster and cheaper. Taxi use statistics just confirms. And here we come to a key issue, and how profitable to abandon your own car and use only a taxi, what economy develops with this approach?

Expenses for the car - we consider the cost of maintenance on the knee

Each of us is distinguished by the concept of what is such a good or bad car, which is expensive, and what is cheap. Therefore, the temptation to take as a basis some particular model of the car is great, but it will be wrong. Let's first estimate what expenses have a car enthusiast and what is their structure.

Buying a car. It is not so important how you buy a car - for cash or loan, it is important that you spend money on it, and at the same time the cost of the car changes exactly at that moment as you get drove. Russian statistics argue that on average B / C / D classes are cheaper for three years by 29-35%, the business class and full-sized SUVs price more than 3 million rubles are lost from 37 to 42%. Of course, each rule has an exception, this statistic is averaged in the market.

Insurance (OSAGA / CASCO). The cost of insurance directly depends on your story, the driver's experience and the cost of the machine. From Casco, you can refuse that many are doing, since a round sum is run out per year.

Fuel. The more you drive by car, the more your fuel costs. Everything is simple and understandable.

That and consumables. The passage then directly depends on the mileage of the machine, as well as the cost of consumables (oil, pads, and so on).

Parking fines, speed exceeding and other. In Moscow, this is an important part of the cost of ownership of the machine, since even the most accurate drivers receive fines.

Parking cost. Parking price varies depending on the place and time of day, as well as the day of the week. But on average, parking in the center begins from 100 rubles per hour and can reach up to 200-300 rubles per hour.

TC Tax. In the overall structure of expenses, this is a minor tax amount.

It seems that we have listed the main costs of the motorist in Moscow, let's consider the cost of the car of my comrade, he has a car worth a little less than 3 million rubles, but for simplicity let's assume that it is exactly 3 million.

So, he has Osago and Casco, they stand about 250 thousand rubles per year. On average, it drives 20,000 kilometers, the average fuel consumption per 100 km is 12 liters. Total we get that per year he spends 2,400 liters. The average price of liters is 35 rubles, total costs per year - 84,000 rubles only on fuel. A man goes carefully, so there are no so much to fines, on average, about 5,000 rubles per month, as a rule, it is parking. Since the work is located in the center, then you have to pay the parking lot, it gives about 6,000 rubles monthly (there is a place in the business center in the parking lot, there is no need to leave the car on the street, that is, this is a fee during travel somewhere). Taxes and that eat about one hundred thousand rubles per year, as the car is new, then nothing breaks, only consumables.

The direct cost of the car in the first year is always minimal, here they make up 445 thousand rubles. Suppose that the cost of the car decreased by 10%, that is, 300 thousand rubles are also virtually lost, the residual value of the machine has decreased. I think that with a real attempt to sell the car this loss will be even higher.

If you share direct costs for 12 months, then it will turn out about 37 thousand rubles each month, this is the cost of ownership of the machine. But we did not take into account the cost of the car, let's say it will be three years, the price decreases by 10% annually from the initial one. The same 300 thousand rubles must be added to expenses, and we already have 745 thousand rubles, or 62 thousand rubles per month.

Approximately such calculations spent my comrade and decided to abandon your own car. The reason is in the scripts of using: the car is needed, as a rule, to get from home to work and back, occasionally get out of meetings (from here small parking costs). Trips to the country house is the main kilometer, and then the car is definitely needed. By taxi, it seems to me, you can't drive there, but for some reason he lowers this moment in his calculations.

Before selling a car, he conducted an experiment and went to a taxi for his affairs (choosing the same level of the car, not budget cars). For the month he turned out 78 trips to which he spent 45 thousand rubles. In the next three months, the amount varied, but it turned out 110 thousand rubles for the quarter. If you recalculate savings for a year, it takes 305 thousand rubles, for three years - 915 thousand rubles.

A very important point - in the family there is another car, from which no one refuses. That is, for unexpected trips, there is still their own wheels, therefore this experiment does not look clean, the total transition to the taxi did not take place. And my comrades preferred to ignore my comrade.

Let's consider speculatively, and how it will be the case with a fiscal car worth a million rubles, and we will try to make the owner saving as much as possible on everything. Therefore, in the calculations, we take a trip with a long length of no more than 10,000 kilometers per year (which is real for anyone who has little to go), the refusal of CASCO and only the OSAGO, the cheapest version of this or its absence, the minimum of consumables. Fuel consumption will take as 10 liters per 100 kilometers, and the cost of fuel is 30 rubles per liter. It turns out that 30,000 rubles leave for fuel per year, insurance and other expenses will take another 30 thousand rubles. Total direct expenses of 60 thousand rubles per year, and one hundred thousand is the markup of the car. We have a total of 160 thousand rubles, or 13 thousand rubles for monthly expenses. In the theory of this money, it may be enough for a taxi, in practice, if you look at Moscow prices, it turns out that the economy car costs 25 rubles per kilometer, that is, the same 10,000 kilometers will cost 250,000 rubles. Balance is not in favor of the user taxi, it overpays 90,000 rubles. Calculations are very conditional, as you can find a taxi cheaper, some shares and the like.

Nevertheless, it is necessary to understand that when someone says that a taxi goes cheaper than possession and use of their own car, it is not. It is possible that the taxi is more convenient. But in the current realities, your own car is noticeably cheaper. There is experience in Singapore and other Asian countries, including China, where they try to limit the number of cars, as a result, even the purchase of the room turns into a whole story, and it can cost it as good half of the car itself. It is possible that the Moscow City Hall is trying to move the market in this direction and increase consistently the cost of ownership of the machine. But there is one quarreling, they will not be able to dramatically raise prices for different fines, taxes and the like, this process is gradual. Only the degradation of the road situation remains when people have to transplane taxi or public transport to have time for their affairs.

I refuse personal transport, which is promoted lately, does not seem economically justified. Nevertheless, I have several comrades made such an operation and so far they argue that it is convenient for them and they freed many additional personal time. With this it is impossible to argue, since one thing is to sit behind the wheel, the other is to do with your affairs while you are being taken. But it is impossible to estimate the direct economy from this, as well as aesthetics (more pleasant to go in your car, and not in someone else, plus it is different cars every time). I have no scenario in my head, in which people in Moscow will start massively refuse their cars in favor of taxi and public transport, there is not only an economy that we considered (although it is important), but also habits. The block factor also becomes that the cost of a taxi has already fallen to a minimum and cannot fall further, there is no reason for additional efficiency.

In our dispute, my argument was simple - a taxi does not replace a personal car and cannot be replaced. This is a convenient, additional way of movement. But not the main one. And what seems to you? What do you choose? Believe that in the near future you can refuse your own car, and if so, why and how will you move (perhaps on a bicycle?).

P.S. Since Pilot material, I repeat, I do not know what it will work out. Let's talk in the comments, whether it is worth discussing such polemical questions or such exercises for the mind are not needed. Express.

Source conditions I accepted such: every weekday we go to work at a distance of 7 km. On the weekend, we get to visit or park within the city of the city - twice a week .. Once a month we ride on the intercity within a radius of 120 km (let's say, in Miass).

I considered the costs for two types of personal cars: a budget new price of 350 thousand rubles (let Lada Granta) and the Midnesium for 700 thousand rubles (typecitroen C4, Ford Focus or Volkswagen Golf). Taxi also took two varieties: cheaper (private traders) and full.

It is clear that the numbers are conditional - everyone has its own situation, and about each parameter you can argue. But I'm not even an accurate value, but the order of magnitude.

In this calculation, I take a mileage calculated on the basis of the above conditions. It is clear that having a car, sometimes we can make an optional voyage. But I do not consider a trip to Sochi or Vladivostok by car: in the end, the need for a personal car for such a tour is generally very controversial - sometimes the plane will be optimal in terms of price / time / risk ratio. In short, I take into account the necessary minimum trips so that the conditions are comparable.

My rough calculation shows that the cost of car and taxi plus minus are comparable. Here you immediately need to admit that I chose a schedule not the most mobile citizen of Russia, and if someone has a job with permanent disposal, the question of a taxi is not worth it. The cheaper the car we take, the less about it we care and the farther we go, the greater the economic efficiency of the personal car.

In addition to the price, of course, everyone is concerned. The table below I collected the pros and cons of taxi trips regardless of the cost of pleasure.

Pros and Cons Taxi

Served to the entrance

In winter, you do not need to warm the salon and score ice

You can ride drunk

On the trip you can do your affairs or sleep

Minimum hassle associated with the content of the machine

Minimum of hassle due to accidents or serious breakdowns

It is possible to effectively combine with travel by public transport, hiking or bicycle

No parking problems

Requires large organizational efforts: planning a day, call in advance, wait

More risks if late

Possible problems with a challenge in hard weather conditions (strong frost, sudden snowfall)

More difficult to travel with children (Children's chair)

There is a risk of running on an inadequate driver or a faulty / wretched car

It is necessary to endure the presence of someone else in the cabin

Limited features of spontaneous trips, especially over long distances

Not so prestigious / interesting

As I see, almost all marked minuses of a taxi (except for the last) are not disadvantaged of the type of transport, as such, but the problems of local operators. If you submit some civilized service, which also appreciates regular customers, almost all minuses can be reduced. In the end, the personal car can break on the road or get stuck in the parking lot in the snowfall.

This little analysis brings me to the thought that a taxi, in principle, could become an alternative to a personal car. True, in order to turn from the means for emergency cases in everyday transport, a taxi must evolve. Say, operators should appear with their fleet of the same machines. There must be drivers control. There must be a convenient taxi and payment order system (for example, through an electronic application - they exist). Perhaps you need a taxi on the aglitsky manner with a separate passenger interior, where you almost do not see the driver. Then, you look, someone would have entrusted them their lives in routine traffic.

But my calculations work if a person in principle refused to buy a personal car in favor of a taxi. But what prestitution should dial a taxi for this? And will such a taxi be many times more expensive than semi-official services that we use now? And if there is a car, then paying her simple parking lot like is very stupid.

I do not at all urge everyone to sell the car and rush into the arms of taxi drivers. But in principle, an effective taxi service can be one way to restrain the motorization. For example, a good taxi instead of a second car for a family - what is not an option?

Initially, it is worth understanding how you use or are going to use the car. The average person enjoys personal or to get to work in the morning, and in the evening to return home.

Another case of a car use is a long-distance ride to relatives, familiar or just a tourist trip to some city or place.

Based on this, we will not consider in this article those cases when a person on work has a whole day to use the car.

Alternative to the car

An alternative to a personal car can serve as a public transport, a friend or acquaintance with his car and a taxi. Consider each of these options in more detail.

Most of our readers live not in Europe. And therefore public transport In our countries leaves much to be desired. There is no working schedule when the desired bus must come, constant take-off, dirt and rudeness. But the big plus is the fare. In Russia, Ukraine and other countries of the former USSR, the fare is 10 times lower than, for example, in Germany.

Friend with your car - This is an excellent option. But only if you are on the way and your graphs coincide. If you have no such friend, then there are many services that allow you to find a suitable companion for a reasonable fee. Sometimes even for free if the owner of the car is looking for a company with which it will be more fun to get to work. In any case, the fare is less than the cost of a taxi, but more expensive public transport.

And the last option - taxi. By comfort, we compare with the variant of the fellow traveler, but the price is much superior to it. Sometimes even two or three times. Fortunately, there is competition, and taxi prices are lower than could be.

Consider expenses

What time is the ownership of the car? On average, 9 liters of fuel per 100 km. There is a moment of depreciation of the car. Calculation of depreciation is a very controversial moment, but if the calculations are not for the company, but for themselves, it is customary to multiply the cost of fuel twice.

Russians for 9 liters of fuel will have to give 300 rubles, Ukrainians - 200 hryvnia. Total costs without force majeure situations with depreciation are equal to 600 rubles and 400 hryvnias per 100 km for Russia and Ukraine, respectively.

What time does the taxi cost? From Red Square in Mytishchi (the distance - 30 km) can be left for approximately 500 rubles. That is, it will come out about three times more expensive than if we used a personal car. In Kiev, 25 km will have to give about 110 hryvnia, which is approximately equal to the cost of using a personal car.

Public transport and option of the fellow traveler can not be considered because of the explicit lower prices for travel.

What everyone's forget about

So far it turns out that the car in Russia has it is 100% more profitable than using taxi for travel. As for Ukraine, expenses will come out about the same. But everyone forget about additional expenses for the car and hidden problems of ownership by the vehicle:

 1. You need to think about parking. Residents of megacolis do not know what to park the car in the city is a large and often unresolved problem. In addition, you often need to pay for a parking space. And rather big money: in Moscow, the average cost of parking for an hour is 40 rubles.
 2. You need to think where to leave the car at night. Not each of us has a personal garage or parking where we can leave your car and do not worry that it will be spoiled or hijacked. And even for parking you have to pay.
 3. The car has a bodging property. At any time you can catch a hole on the road, and you will have to lay out a rather big amount, for example, for a new disk. And it will be one of the cheapest repairs of your car. Everything can be much worse. You can fly the fuel system, suspension or even the engine.

conclusions

If you need a car solely in order to get to work and from work, then you should think about 10 times, whether it is worth buying it. Holding a car is a very expensive event and, moreover, this is a big headache. For long trips, you can use buses, trains, airplanes and other vehicles. In extreme cases, you can rent a car.

Good development taxis services and healthy competition created very favorable conditions for those who can afford the car, but knows how to count money.

Using a taxi is minus high costs, minus car care, minus spent nerves due to traffic jams and various road situations.

There is a psychological moment here. After all, if you need to get to the neighboring metro station, you will most likely not call a taxi, but use public transport. Or do you walk on foot, which useful will affect your health.

Do you still want to buy a car?
