Therefore, it is better to refuse turbocharged 1.6-liter engines, and you can take a closer look at the naturally-aspirated 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 120 liters. with. In this engine, some troubles also happen, for example, after 100,000 km. it is already clear that valve stem seals worn out seriously, and by this run the motor, working in the mechanism that lifts the valve, is already out of order.

When buying a car with a Prince engine, you need to know that the less the car is, the better. Because every year new problems are discovered and the manufacturer somehow tries to modernize its motors, for example, in 2010 they did a serious job of eliminating errors. Timing sprockets have become better fixed, improved the block head, oil pump, chain tensioner and even a program in the electronic engine control unit. In 2013, there were also upgrades, so the EP6 series motor is considered the safest motor, on cars that were released after 2013.

There are also other motors - French ones, they are already more reliable. For example, 25% of cars are equipped with an atmospheric 2-liter EW10 engine, in general this is quite good motor compared to German. There is also a 1.8-liter EW7 engine, which is the same in design, only with a slightly smaller volume. These engines are without special problems serve over 250,000 km. Sometimes it happens that after 100,000 km. the motor mounts break off, but they can be replaced for 50 euros. It also happens that they flow valve covers gaskets.

Once every 60,000 km. it is necessary to change the timing belt and rollers. There is also a rarer 3-liter engine, which can be found in only 2% of cars of this model. Transmissions

Gasoline engines with a volume of 1.8 and 2.0 liters are equipped with 5-speed manual gearboxes. And with turbocharged 1.6, diesel 2 and 2.2, there are 6-speed manual transmissions. They are quite reliable and do not give cause for concern. But in these boxes there is a rather weak gear selection mechanism, which costs 170 euros, over time the gears do not change clearly, the cables begin to wedge over time, so it is advisable to lubricate them once a year, it is possible at the end of autumn. The oil in the box must be changed every 80,000 km. and then it will last a long time.

There is also a 6-speed robotic box EGS, it is installed in Citroens C5 with atmospheric and diesel engines with a volume of 1.6 liters. This box is generally reliable, but jolts and bumps sometimes appear during operation. The clutch is dry here and it serves at least 120,000 km. For the robot box to work normally, it is desirable once every 30,000 km. update the program in the control unit.

It has already been tested in practice in Volvo car V70 back in 2001, it was also installed on many other cars famous brands... It is quite reliable and can last at least 250,000 km without intervention. The oil must be changed together with the filter every 60,000 km, then shocks will not appear. Sometimes it happens that after 80,000 km. the gear selector stops working, which means that you need to change the interlock relay, which costs 12 euros.

Suspension

The Citroen C5 uses the Hydractive 3+ suspension, it serves more than 150,000 km without any problems. All suspension elements are quite reliable: the control unit rarely glitches, its price is 600 euros, the pump high pressure also does not break, but if it breaks, then it will cost 1000 euros., elastic elements cost 100 euros. There are more than 7 of them, maybe they can serve even 200,000 km. And the membrane, which separates gas and liquid under high pressure, lasts even longer.

But on cars manufactured before 2011, this suspension may fail after 60,000 km. - and the car will begin to cling to the bottom of the earth, while it will not be able to drive faster than 90 km / h. If you notice that the KYB hydropneumatic struts are leaking, it means that repairs will need to be done soon. The front pillars cost 300 euros, and the rear ones cost 200. If everything is in order with the pillars, then you need to check the pipelines, each tube costs 20 euros. It happens that after 4 years the tubes may leak due to rust or deformation. In most cases, there is a gap in aluminum tubes, which are supplied to the rear hydraulic cylinders.

After 2011, the racks and tubes were made more reliable, the main thing is not to pour too much liquid, because the excess will flow through the tank and through the racks seals. The Toyota 5S engine is the largest engine of the late S series. Toyota 5S engine modifications

Light supercharging (up to 0.4 bar) will allow us to significantly increase the power and at the same time leave the engine as standard, and, accordingly, get by with minimal investments. We take the entire turbo kit from the CT26 turbine and the intercooler, 360cc injectors, 63 mm exhaust pipe, SAFCII and get up to 200 hp. To increase the recoil, you need to replace the standard connecting rods with a connecting rod from 3S-GTE, standard camshafts with tuning ones with a phase of 250-260, bore the inlet / outlet ports to a size of 33.5 / 29.5mm, grind and install enlarged valves from 3S-GTE with springs, fuel pump Walbro 255, set everything up. Nobody forbids putting the crankshaft and forged ShPG under a low compression ratio, light flywheel, Garrett GT35 and blowing all the money, but this is the lot of fans, not otherwise.
It is not difficult to notice, for the implementation of the urban turbo, we used components from the 3S-GTE engine, so the most logical, inexpensive, stable, reliable and correct tuning here is replacing the engine with a 3S-GTE.

With this design, the filling of the cylinders and the removal of combustion products are improved. Cooking and igniting air-fuel mixture in the cylinders is performed by the system distributed injection that does not require adjustment. Hydraulic pushers automatically adjust and maintain required clearances valves.

Exhaust gas recirculation contributes to lower fuel consumption and the design exhaust manifold- rapid heating of the catalyst when starting a cold engine.

The DW10TD engine is a four-cylinder, in-line, overhead camshaft, direct injection.

The high pressure fuel pump (TNVD) and the coolant pump are driven by a timing belt. The engine is located transversely in the engine compartment and is equipped with a sound-absorbing hood.

This engine is produced in two modifications: DW10TD - without heater and DW10ATED - with heater.

The DW10ATED engine is an improved modification of the DW10TD engine. Improvement in power characteristics and torque parameters is achieved by adjusting the parameters of the turbo-boost pressure electronic unit engine control.

The DW12TED4 engine (see illustration 1.0) is also a four-cylinder in-line with direct fuel injection.

Two camshafts located in the cylinder head. The timing belt drives the high pressure fuel pump, the coolant pump and camshaft on the exhaust valves.

On top cover the cylinder head contains the crankcase ventilation hose and the oil filler neck, and the oil pan is adapted for draining engine oil using a special suction device. This engine is equipped with a turbocharger with variable geometry shoulder blades.

The cylinder block is made of gray cast iron and the cylinder head is made of aluminum alloy. Crankshaft(see illustration 1 .Oa) rotates in the cylinder block in five main bearings, fixed by thrust half rings.

The piston marking is embossed on the end of the body, the arrow "k" indicates the location of the toothed belt; on each piston three piston rings: upper compression ring 11, lower compression ring 12, oil scraper ring 13 (see illustration 1.06).

DW12TED4 engines are equipped with a two-piece flywheel (see illustration 1.0c). Plate with identification number the engine is fixed in the lower part of the cylinder block (see illustrations 1.0d and 1.0d).

The engine is lubricated by an oil pump driven by the crankshaft. The oil sucked from the oil pan is fed through holes and channels to the bearings of the crankshaft and camshaft, as well as to the working surfaces of the cylinders.
