Named after the Iranian steppe tribes, the car does an excellent job of its "nomadic" duties, as it is considered one of the best crossovers for long trips. The debut version, as it may sound, is designed entirely in Europe, and the main market for the model is European countries. In the fall of 2013, the second generation Qashqai was officially introduced, which is still considered one of the safest crossovers.

Since the Korean can boast of a longer career, we will give preference to him.

Appearance

If we compare the appearance of the latest modifications of the models, we get the following picture - the exterior of the Kia Sportage looks very bold and dynamic. Also, the developers added a little aggressiveness, which was lacking in the past. The front flaunts a branded false radiator grille, shaped like the wings of a bat. The elongated headlights of the head optics go right up to the hood, which undoubtedly looks very stylish from the side. A large air intake located on the front bumper provides the necessary cooling of the "filling" of the car. Also, I would like to note the smooth hood, which is the hallmark of the lineup.

From the side, everything is also very simple and stylish. On the doors, you can see smooth stampings, which are perfectly combined with voluminous wheel arches. As for the stern of the crossover, here the branded visor, which is a continuation of the roof, and large taillights made using LED technology immediately catch the eye. The embossed tailgate accommodates a small window and the corporate logo below it.

But in the exterior of Qashqai, the main emphasis is on its sportiness. The developers realized that they could not compete with the Sportage designers, so they decided to surpass them in other ways. The front end is more lowered than the competitor. Here you can see a small grille with chrome elements and sharp-angled headlights of the head optics. The embossed bumper is equipped with a large air intake and stylish foglights. As for the hood, unlike its counterpart, it is very wide and embossed.

The side of the crossover is somewhat reminiscent of the Sportage profile. The same small stampings, volumetric arches and a sloping roof. From this perspective, it is also noticeable that Qashqai is clearly inferior to its competitor in its dimensions. The rear of the Japanese car looks more collected and finished than that of the "Korean". This was achieved through the installation of a raised trunk lid and an incredibly powerful bumper. However, this visor is almost the same as that of the Sportage.

Salon

Considering some similarity of car exteriors, no one was surprised by the fact that a lot of things in common can be noticed in the interior. For example, it is almost identical to the ergonomics and layout of the dashboard. Except that the Sportage has a larger touchscreen display, however, in everything else, there is a suspicious similarity, which confirms the fact that both cars are Asian. And this is taking into account the fact that Qashqai was designed by European specialists. As for the steering wheels, they are also made in the same style.

Among the differences, I would like to immediately note the obvious difference in interior trim. If Qashqai used expensive, high-quality materials for this purpose, then Korean developers relied on practicality. This, of course, affects the overall impression of the interior as well.

However, the Sportage salon, in turn, is much more spacious due to its incredible dimensions.

As a result, a completely contradictory situation develops, therefore, in comparing car interiors, the most logical result will be a draw.
