Transmission

MMZ D-245.7 is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox that allows you to accelerate truck up to 93 kilometers per hour, while consuming about 16.8 liters per 100 kilometers. The YaMZ-53442 power unit comes with a 5-speed synchronized mechanical box gear shifting, where there is a constant meshing of gears.

You can also see a single-plate dry clutch. To overcome difficult sections, a 2-stage transfer case, which can lower gear ratio revolutions from the power unit to the gearbox without loss of power.

Also in the car you can find the presence of an interwheel differential with increased friction, which was borrowed from the 66th model. Just thanks to the synchronization with the gearbox, a high off-road capability is ensured.

For example, Sadko can overcome the rise, the slope of which will be up to 31 degrees on the horizon. It would not be superfluous to mention here the 315 mm ground clearance for the base model and 335 mm for the military trim levels.

Suspension

The vehicle was built on a platform of a two-axle frame base, where there is a dependent spring suspension in front and behind, as well as longitudinal semi-elliptical springs, which are complemented by double-acting hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers on all wheels.

The chassis from the 66th model was taken as the basis, but it was significantly improved. So, its carrying capacity has risen by 500 kilograms, which in total has reached the mark of 2,500 kilograms. Although, in our area it is customary to overload this (and not only) truck mercilessly.

Brake system

It is here represented by a double-circuit type and is equipped with ABS system. Also have hydraulic drive, hydraulic booster and vacuum receiver on each circuit. All wheels of the car received drum braking devices. It didn't go without parking brake, which is transmission and has a mechanical drive.

For many power units internal combustion, this height seems impossible, but Vepr was able to prove himself well. The base cost of GAZ Sadko is considered to be the starting mark - 1,330,000 rubles. This price tag is still more than the price of "Countryman", where there is even an increased carrying capacity.
