The all-wheel drive Octavia was especially good on serpentine roads: the electronic differential lock XDS+ gently braked the inner wheels, literally pushing the car into a turn, the rear axle coupling worked absolutely imperceptibly, and as a result the car held its trajectory like a glove. At the same time, the steering wheel clearly transmitted information about the position of the wheels to the hands, allowing you to take turn after turn in the optimal mode.


I tried the work electronic assistants. In general, I had no doubt that they would work, but I would still like to comment on some points. A small icon on the instrument panel indicates that you have activated the lane keeping system. When the system’s cameras “catch” on the markings, the icon will change color to green, and when the car moves towards the markings, you will feel a certain force on the steering wheel aimed at returning to the lane. True, this system does not always work. If the marking lines are dirty or worn out, the system loses them. But what surprised me was that it clings better to a broken line than to a solid one.
