We also add a domed roof, a high side window sill, large doors and a massive rear end of the car.

Chinese car company FAW is known in Russia thanks to its trucks. FAW Besturn B50 is another representative from the Celestial Empire; will this car manage to gain a foothold in automotive market Time will tell Russia.

FAW (China First Automobile Works Group Company) is a Chinese automobile corporation with more than half a century of history, last years systematically introduces its line of passenger cars to the Russian market.

The design of the FAV Besturn B50 was carried out by the Italians from Italdesign Giugiaro, and the premiere of their work in the sedan body took place back in April 2008 at the Beijing Motor Show. Let's look at the FAW Besturn B50 from all sides.

The front of the car has high-mounted headlights with a sly “look,” a neat false radiator grille and a simple but massive bumper. The front fairing places on its surface a slot for the lower air intake and round fog lamps on inserts made of unpainted plastic. “Chinese” profile – with adult stampings of expanders wheel arches and two ribs. The upper edge runs through the line of the door handles, the lower splash decorates the lower part of the doors. Otherwise, the FAW Besturn B50 is a regular and calm sedan with a long sloping hood, a sloping roof and a lean rear. The rear part is simplicity itself: a straight trunk lid, a bumper. The stern is somewhat decorated with pleasing rear lighting equipment and an arched stamping on the luggage compartment lid.

Representatives of the Italian school of auto design drew and created a nice body for the FAV Besturn B50, it’s certainly not a masterpiece, but it looks original and doesn’t smell like plagiarism.

The external overall dimensions of the FAW sedan are: length - 4600 mm, width - 1785 mm, height - 1435 mm, wheelbase - 2675 mm.

Interior FAW Besturn B50 welcomes its five passengers with a large and bright interior. The front dashboard is massive, with smooth lines, the center console has a classic arrangement of music control units (in the base there is an audio system with CD MP3 and 6 speakers) and climate control (for all trim levels). Large multifunction steering wheel. A simple instrument panel with an on-board computer screen has adjustable red backlighting. Driver's seat with electric drive and adjustment in 8 directions with variable lumbar support, passenger - with mechanical adjustment. There is nothing to say about the comfort of the seats; there are no “live” cars in Russia yet, but judging by the photo, the profile is correct, with developed lateral support. In the second row, passengers have enough legroom and the roof does not put pressure on their heads. The pillow has a flat profile; the middle passenger will be disturbed by the central tunnel.

Trunk volume 450 liters – average for a European D-class car, in which FAW is going to “play” with its sedan, built on the platform of the first generation of the Japanese Mazda6.

It is not yet known what configurations for the Besturn B50 FAV will be offered in Russia. In China, cars are sold in three fixed contents: Luxury, Premium, 3G.
