At first, this elongated sedan was presented as a VIP car. It was made in one copy, as an experiment. Then the next one appeared, a little modernized version, and from the beginning of 2018, sales of this modification may already begin on pre-orders.

At the 2016 motor show in Moscow, AvtoVAZ presented this all-terrain sedan, designed on the basis of a station wagon. However, there is still no information about the launch time of the car on the assembly line. It is possible that such a car will not appear at all, although special problems there should be no such thing with the start of production.

But this car will definitely appear. Another domestic novelty for 2017-2018 is actually ready. It is equipped with a 1.8-liter 150-horsepower engine and has an original steering wheel. In the fall of 2018, it is planned to begin production of the second generation of the SUV. It has not yet been shown even in prototype form. The euphoria of anticipation, expectation and hope has already passed that the new 2018 VAZ models will finally offer domestic car enthusiasts what they have long expected - modern, reliable, functional and inexpensive cars. The management of AvtoVAZ, announcing the next development, says what consumers want to hear, but qualitatively different products come off the assembly line.

Let's look at the facts and concrete numbers. In 2016, AvtoVAZ sold 266,296 cars on the Russian market - this is the first place in terms of sales volume. The turnover of the VAZ brand amounted to 115 billion rubles. (10% more than last year) – this is fourth place. At the same time, according to the reporting, AvtoVAZ finished the first half of 2016 with a net loss of 27 billion rubles. How is this possible?

There is no doubt that the company's management will justify and explain how, with a turnover of 115 billion, a loss of 27 billion rubles can be incurred. For half a year. Against the background of these statistics, it seems interesting that Renault-Nissan alliance, which owns 50% of the shares, is in no hurry to sell its stake in the unprofitable enterprise.

Why? There can be only one answer: Renault-Nissan is happy with this situation, apparently they still somehow manage to make money from AvtoVAZ’s losses. I wonder how?

Lada Priora 2018

It would be a stretch to include a slightly updated product as a new product for 2018. 2018 will be last year release of this model, so bypass this review Priora side would be wrong.
