Dimensions of Hyundai Tucson. Technical characteristics of Hyundai Tucson. Luggage compartment size

The official presentation of the 2016 Hyundai Tucson took place on February 27, 2015. The article describes prices and configurations, as well as technical specifications.

Review content:

The new generation of Hyundai Tucson has become much more aggressive, stylish, and also more representative. In addition, the manufacturer has finally stopped playing with names, and the buyer can purchase exactly the car he needs without any further clarification.

Hyundai Tucson 2016 design

The last generation we saw was a hippopotamus, that's what they called it. The new one has become much more technologically advanced, but the features of the Sportage co-platform are clearly visible here. So, it's time to look directly at the car. The crowning achievement of the design idea was the huge radiator grille, which is typical only for premium cars. Hyundai has taken aim at this segment, which is confirmed by the abundance of chrome parts, the presence LED headlights, which are so popular nowadays, and of course with the general muscular body shapes.

The previous generation of the IX 35 known to us, which looked a little awkward, especially in its front part. Here you can clearly see the swift appearance, the massive bumper, in which small fog lights with daytime running lights are hidden. It is worth paying attention to the asymmetrical skirt, one part is trimmed with honeycomb mesh, the other is muffled to hide the tow hook. To be honest, it is difficult to pay attention to anything specific in the new 2016 Hyundai Tucson, since the car has so many new products that it makes your eyes run wild.

The new generation profile looks much more solid than the ix35. There is no longer an awkward hood, as well as headlights of an incomprehensible shape. Here everything is in its place, has a specific purpose, and also gives the appearance a completeness of execution.
Already in the base, 16-inch alloy wheels are offered here, which, on the way to the top-end configuration, grow to 19 inches.

The platform design, as well as the roots of the car, are very clearly visible here. With massive black plastic around the perimeter, the manufacturers seem to hint that the new Hyundai Tucson 2015-2016 is capable of proving itself not only on asphalt, but also on light off-road conditions. In fact, this is a very dubious advantage, since test drives showed its virtual helplessness. In addition, highway tires are installed from the factory.

The rear of the new generation also looks assembled and stylish, there is nothing superfluous here, but it doesn’t look spartan either. The dual exhaust pipe also emphasizes the character of the model.

Hyundai Tucson 2016 Dimensions:

  • Length – 4475
  • Width – 1850
  • Height – 1660
  • Wheelbase – 2670
  • Ground clearance – 182
  • Front track width – 1608
  • Rear track width – 1620
  • Wheel size – 215 / 70 / R16

Interior of Hyundai Tucson 2016

As mentioned above, the Koreans decided to slightly raise the class of the car, for which they made a lot of effort. The plastics here are hard, but look solid. In addition, a clever move was the use of soft materials in places where a person can touch. For example, these are armrests, opening handles, all kinds of knobs, as well as buttons.

The driver's seat, as in the previous generation, is not comfortable here, however, after numerous adjustment operations, it is possible to achieve an almost ideal position. The only thing missing here is the firm shape of the pillow.

The instrument panel is a classic layout, which includes two large wells with a speedometer and tachometer, as well as a small 4-inch on-board computer display, which can display information about instantaneous consumption, speed, power reserve on remaining fuel, and other vehicle systems .

By the way, about systems. The equipment of the Hyundai Tucson 2015-2016 is a little non-standard for a car of this class. If you choose between Hyundai Santa Fe Premium, and this car, then most likely the choice will fall to the last one. A hill start assist system, a blind spot monitoring system, and a lane keeping assist system are available here. The Auto Hold system deserves special attention. It allows the driver not to hold the brake pedal when the car has stopped temporarily. For example, at a traffic light.

The pride of the model is the huge 8-inch touch screen, which, of course, is used to control multimedia and navigation, as well as for the rear view camera. In general, nothing unusual, but for “Tushkan” this is a huge step forward in terms of development towards technology, and it’s not supposed to, it seems like it’s in class.
In general, it cannot be said that the central console is distinguished by some kind of chic or sophistication, but it is its rustic shape that captivates. Finishing different colors The plastic is of good quality – perhaps that’s all the model can boast of. An air conditioning control unit can be installed here, and there can also be climate control designed for two operating zones. Of course, such a car would also like a third zone for rear passengers, but, again, “it’s not allowed according to the class.”

Next to the gearshift lever or selector there are buttons for controlling the drive, parking sensors, driving mode and other vehicle systems. The same cup holder is installed, though without clamps, but with a rubberized bottom.

The second row looks even more comfortable than the front. However, this is not the case. Yes, the wheelbase of 2.67 meters is enough to accommodate three passengers, and at the same time neatly fold the legs. But nothing more. Of course, the seat kicks up, and the pillow itself folds, freeing up plenty of space for luggage. In the first case, its volume will be 488 liters, and in the second - 1448 liters.

Hyundai Tucson 2016: technical specifications

Koreans have been on the Russian market long enough to design a huge number of engines that would be unpretentious, reliable and productive in our conditions. Past experience with Santa Fe has shown that even diesel fuel in our country can be used for work foreign engines. So, the 2016 Hyundai Tucson boasts four power units, one of which is powered by diesel fuel. Let's start with it. It is impossible to say which engine is top-end, because maximum configuration comes with all types, let's just say it's simply the most powerful.

4 cylinders, the total working volume of which is 2 liters, develop 185 horsepower and 400 Nm. Of course, such results were achieved thanks to the use of a turbine, now atmospheric engines quite small, which shifts the operating range towards medium speeds. Such an engine will require no more than 6.5 liters on the highway or 8 liters in the city. At the same time, acceleration to hundreds takes no more than 9.5 seconds, and this with a mass of 2.25 tons. Maximum speed stopped at 201 km/h. This is the same engine that we saw in previous generations, however, despite the increase in weight by 200 kg, the Koreans managed to reduce fuel consumption in the city by almost a liter. Not bad.

Now let's talk about less powerful engines. The second two-liter engine develops 150 horses, is powered by gasoline and “swallows” 7.9 liters of gasoline on the highway with front-wheel drive, and 10.7 liters of gasoline in the city. The all-wheel drive version has a big appetite: 8.3 and 11.5 liters. However, the dynamic characteristics do not differ. Acceleration to hundreds takes 10.6 seconds, and the maximum speed will not exceed 180 km/h.

Next in the hierarchy are engines with a displacement of 1.6 liters. The first can develop 132 horsepower and 161 Nm of torque. There is no turbine, so fuel consumption is slightly lower than its older brother. Acceleration to hundreds will take no less than 11.5 seconds, while the top speed will be 182 km/h. All-wheel drive is not offered for this engine, only front-wheel drive, with a six-speed manual transmission, which is logical. For a hundred kilometers on the highway you will need to fill 6.7 liters, and in the city - 8.5 liters.

Last motor It is offered with a seven-speed robot and all-wheel drive, the only one. It develops 177 horsepower and is built on the same cylinder block as the previous one. Torque is 265 Nm. Because of the turbine, fuel consumption is slightly higher than that of an aspirated vehicle, but the dynamics are also better: on the highway you need to fill 7.5 liters every 100 kilometers, in the city 9.2 liters. Such a “Tushkan” will exchange the first hundred in 9.1 seconds; moreover, it is capable of developing the second hundred.

Hyundai Tucson 2016: options and prices

The new generation Hyundai Tucson is offered on the Russian market in five trim levels, which differ little from each other.

Already in the database you can get four-wheel drive, but only with automatic transmission. Here the buyer will receive fabric trim, air conditioning, heated front seats, an audio system with CD, a hill start assist system and 16-inch alloy wheels. For the 2016 Hyundai Tucson Start, you will have to pay an amount in the range from 1.2 to 1.45 million rubles.

Comfort

This package starts at 1.4 million rubles. The same systems will be here passive safety, Same fabric interior, tire pressure sensors, climate control, cruise control, rear parking sensors, rain and light sensors, fog lights, heated wiper blade area. The steering wheel and gearshift lever will be finished in leather, while the steering wheel itself will become heated. A turbocharged 1.6 engine is available here, but there are also front-wheel drive options, the wheel size is already 17 inches. Maximum price Hyundai equipment Tucson 2015-2016 Comfort will be 1.72 million rubles.

Journey. Perhaps an appropriate name, because with such equipment included, traveling is quite pleasant. Perhaps this name was chosen because this is the first configuration in which standard navigation is available. There will be a system here keyless entry, starting the engine with a button, front parking sensors will also appear. The car will also be equipped with LED optics with automatic leveling, and there will be roof rails on the roof. The interior is upholstered in leather, the rear seats are heated, that's all the changes in the interior. The price of such a configuration will be at least 1.6 million rubles, with a maximum of 1.9 million.

There are no front-wheel drive modifications here anymore, only all-wheel drive. Only automatic or robot. There will be a servo drive for the seats, heated seats, as well as a door drive with opening angle memory. The car is also equipped with a blind spot monitoring system. Perhaps this is where the changes end. The price of this configuration of the Hyundai Tucson 2015-2016 varies from 1.78 to 1.85 million rubles.

Prime + High-Tech

It’s not for nothing that this package is called that. It is thanks to her that the new “Tushkan” will become a worthy competitor to more serious rivals. There will be a collision avoidance system, lane control, automatic parking, and a sunroof with a panoramic roof. The size of the wheels, as mentioned above, is 19 inches. For this version you will have to pay about 1.95 million rubles.

Compared to its predecessor, the Hyundai Tussan has become larger in size, and its power is emphasized by the impressive front part of the car and enlarged wheel arches. The space in the cabin has also increased: the new model has more legroom for the driver and rear passengers, and the size of the seats for front passengers has increased.

The dimensions of the car itself are also impressive: length - 4670 mm, width - 1850 mm, height - 1660 mm. The wheelbase of the new generation has increased to 2670 mm. The ground clearance has also increased slightly, which for Russian modifications is 182 mm. The trunk volume has been reduced to 488 liters, but with the rear row seats folded down it increases to 1478 liters. A similar one is installed on the Hyundai Tussan Ford Kuga a sensor that allows you to open the trunk by moving your foot under the bumper.

But the main changes took place in the crossover's interior. It has become completely different and compares favorably with its predecessor. New, softer plastic appeared inside, the steering wheel received comfortable grooves for the fingers. In the new generation, the steering wheel has become three-spoke, which emphasizes sporty design cars. The layout of the buttons on the steering wheel has not changed.

Petrol engines available for the Russian market are 1.6 (132 hp), its turbocharged version (177 hp) and 2.0 (149 hp), as well as diesel engine 2.0 (185 hp). All engines comply environmental standard Euro 6. Fuel consumption in the city for gasoline units is 8.6-10.9 liters, on the highway the figures are much lower: 5.6-6.5 liters. Diesel modifications consume 8 liters of fuel in the city and 5.6 on the highway. Volume fuel tank- 62 liters.

Hyundai Tussan is available with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission or a seven-speed robot. Modifications were produced with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The suspension of the Korean car is independent with stabilizers (front - MacPherson strut, rear - multi-link). The crossover's brakes are disc, with a manual parking brake (as standard). Luxury versions have an electronic brake.

The crossover is available in Start, Prime, Travel, and Comfort trim levels. The Prime version comes with the High-Tech package, which is available a roof with a panoramic view. The basic Start package includes front fog lights, electric side mirrors, a rear spoiler, two-way adjustable steering wheel, heated front seats, a six-speaker audio system and an on-board computer. The upholstery is made of fabric.

Airbags (front, side, curtains) protect passengers and the driver. The driver's assistants when driving are a whole range of safety systems: anti-lock braking, distribution braking force, electronic stability control, hill start assist, tire pressure drop indicator.

The Comfort version includes cruise control, climate control, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Prime package is distinguished by the presence of an engine start button, leather upholstery, navigation systems (TomTom), blind spot monitoring, parking assistance, an eight-inch monitor on the center console, and a rearview camera.

The Travel version additionally includes a 4.2-inch display. Except basic configurations, a version of the Adventuremobile was introduced, equipped with a rooftop tent and solar battery at 20 W.

Appeared on the market in 2004. His name comes from the city of Tucson in Arizona. But, unfortunately, in 2010 the SUV was discontinued and was replaced by the new Hyundai ix35. However, despite this relatively short existence, the car remains a favorite of many car owners. We learn what its advantages are from the technical characteristics.

Vehicle dimensions

The car looks (despite its advanced age by automotive standards) quite decently. There is nothing extraordinary or supernatural about it - a nice-looking compact SUV that has classic proportions and a high body. The length of the Hyundai Tussan is 4325 mm, the width is 1830 mm, and the height of the car is 1730 mm.

Despite its seemingly small size, the car has quite spacious salon, so passengers will not experience inconvenience when long trips. As for the luggage carried, the Tussan SUV has a trunk volume of 325 liters, and with the rear seat backrest folded down, this figure increases to 805 liters, which allows you to transport a significant amount of things.

Depending on modification full mass vehicle weight varies from 1500 to 1680 kg. Also considering the technical characteristics of the Tussan Hyundai - its ground clearance must be said to be as much as 195 mm! But the wheelbase, in turn, is small - 2630 mm. But all this together allows you to calmly overcome steep entrances/exits to ascents/descents, as well as various city restrictions: curbs, tram rails, speed bumps, etc. In addition, the small overall dimensions of the SUV make it possible to operate it in a wide variety of road conditions, be it an asphalt road or rough terrain.

Specifications

Hyundai Tussan initially had the following technical characteristics - the line of power units was represented by two gasoline and one diesel engines:

  • Petrol DOHC engine CVVT with a volume of 2.0 liters and a power of 142 horsepower at 6000 rpm. This motor can be equipped with both mechanical and automatic transmission H-matic with five stages and is capable of accelerating the car to a maximum of 180 km/h. Fuel consumption at mixed cycle movement is 8.0 liters, on the highway 6.6 liters and in the city 10.4 liters. This engine accelerates the car to 100 km/h in 10.5 seconds.
  • The next petrol V-shaped six-cylinder DOHC unit with a volume of 2.7-liter (which is the top of the line) is capable of producing 175 horsepower at the same 6000 rpm. Installs only on all-wheel drive versions and works with an H-matic automatic transmission. An SUV in this modification consumes 10 liters in the mixed driving cycle, 8.0 liters on the highway and 13.2 liters in the urban cycle. The maximum speed is 180 km/h, and in 10.5 seconds the car reaches a speed of 100 km/h.
  • The diesel unit is represented by a 2.0-liter CRDi engine producing a maximum power of 112 horses at 4000 rpm. This engine is equipped with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions of the car. The engine operates like its petrol 2.0-liter brother with a five-speed manual or H-matic automatic transmission. This version consumes diesel fuel with a combined cycle 7.0 liters, on the highway - 5.8 liters and during city driving 9.1 liters. Maximum speed diesel modification is 168 km/h, and acceleration to the first 100 km/h takes 13.1 seconds.

Then in 2007, the SUV was restyled, but the car underwent a minimum of changes: another new one was added to the existing types of engines diesel unit with a volume of 2 liters and a power of 140 horsepower. It had the following characteristics:

  • The 2.0-liter diesel engine produces 140 horsepower and is paired with a five-speed manual or H-matic automatic transmission. Engine fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 4.9 liters, on the highway - 5.8 liters and in urban mode 8.7 liters. The maximum speed is 178 km/h, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 10.3 seconds.

Hyundai Tucson 2017-2018 review: appearance models, interior, technical specifications, security systems, prices and configurations. Photos of the car. At the end of the article there is a video panorama of the 2017-2018 Hyundai Tussan!

Review content:

Debut of the third Hyundai generations Tucson took place in 2015 as part of the annual Geneva Auto Show. In comparison with its predecessor, the car has been transformed in all planes: the crossover has received a completely new design exterior, larger dimensions, improved and more comfortable interior, and also became more technologically advanced.

It is worth noting that the predecessor new Hyundai Tussant 2017 on European and domestic market was known as ix35. Now, regardless of the sales market, the car will be called “Tucson” - a name received in honor of the city of the same name in Arizona (USA). By the way, in the language of North American Indians the name “Tucson” means “spring at the foot of the Black Mountain.”

Exterior Hyundai Tucson 2017 - 2018

The first thing you notice when looking at the new Hyundai Tussan is its dimensions. The crossover has become noticeably larger than its predecessor:
  • Length– 4.475 m;
  • Width– 1.85 m;
  • Height without roof rails – 1.655 m (with roof rails – 1.66 m);
  • Wheelbase totals 2.67 m.
The minimum declared ground clearance is 182 mm, which on the one hand is not much, but on the other hand it will be sufficient for the majority of potential buyers, the majority of whom will use the car exclusively in the city.

The third generation Hyundai Tucson received completely new appearance, which successfully combines solidity and sport. In general, the car is made in uniform style with the latest generation of the younger Hyundai ix25 and the older Hyundai Santa Fe.

The front part of the car flaunts aggressive LED head optics, a monumental hexagonal false radiator grille and a spectacular bumper, where a small air intake and dual foglights are neatly written off.

The profile of the crossover is no less stylish and modern, attracting the eye with a falling roof line, a soaring window line, massive wheel arches and elegant stampings running along the large side doors.

The rear of the Hyundai Tussan received large parking lamps with LED filling and a large door luggage compartment, topped with a small spoiler, as well as a neat bumper with a sports diffuser and a pair of trapezoidal exhaust pipes.

Those wishing to become the owner new Tucson can choose one of eleven body colors, as well as one of several R18-R18 wheel designs.

Interior of the new Hyundai Tussan 2018

Following the appearance, the interior design of the car has also been transformed, which is ergonomic, strict and at the same time modern design. The stylish multifunctional three-spoke steering wheel is endowed with a pronounced relief, and dashboard, supplemented by a 4.2” liquid crystal screen of the on-board computer, is highly informative. In the central part of the dashboard there is a functional touch monitor of the multimedia unit, which has a diagonal of 8 inches.

Directly below it is a double row of functional buttons, and even lower is a stylish microclimate control unit, represented by a small display and a pair of functional knobs. The interior of the car is for the most part made of high-quality materials, but in some places there is still hard plastic, the presence of which does not spoil the general impression from the interior design.

Hyundai Tucson is designed for five passengers, none of which will face the problem of shortage free space, what is the merit of the increased wheelbase.

The front seats, although far from the standard, have a friendly profile and a sufficient number of adjustments. An electric drive and ventilation system are optionally available, which is still a rarity in cars of this class. The gallery received an adjustable backrest, a separate air duct block, an armrest and a heating system (optional).

The trunk volume has decreased slightly and is now 488 liters, which can be increased to 1478 liters by folding the rear sofa. Underground luggage compartment A full-size spare tire is hidden, as well as a small repair kit. It is important to note that the lowered backs of the rear sofa form a perfectly flat floor, which allows you to easily transport large cargo.

Technical characteristics of Hyundai Tucson 2017-2018

Currently, the Hyundai Tucson 2017-2018 in Russia is represented by three power units - two gasoline engines and one diesel engine:

Depending on the type of preinstalled transmission (6-level manual or 6-level automatic) and the type of drive (front-wheel or all-wheel drive), acceleration from 0 to 100 ranges from 10.2-11.8 seconds, reaching a maximum of 186 km/h. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 7.8-8.4 liters per hundred kilometers.
  2. 1.6 liter gasoline unit with turbocharging system and direct injection fuel. This engine develops 177 “horses” and 265 Nm of thrust, which is available in the range of 1.5-5.5 thousand rpm. In 2015, the manufacturer presented the 3rd generation Hyundai Tussan to the public. Debut of the updated compact SUV took place in the spring of 2015 at the annual Geneva Auto Show. The developers presented the model as “completely updated” and devoid of previous shortcomings. The changes affected the dimensions, interior and technologies used.

About the changes in detail - description of the 3rd generation model

Hyundai Tucson has appeared in a completely new form: technical characteristics of models supplied to Russian market have changed thanks to new trim levels and improved performance (fuel consumption, acceleration, maximum speed).

Engine and modifications

The range of power units provided for the Russian car owner includes the following engines:

  1. gasoline
  • 150 hp, Nu 2.0 MPi D-CVVT (torque 192 Nm), set to 5 different modifications– with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, with automatic and manual;
  • 177 hp, Gamma 1.6 Turbo-GDi D-CVVT (turbo engine, 265 Nm, 4 modifications - with “robot”, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with “mechanics”);
  1. diesel
  • 185 hp, CRDi 2.0 (400 Nm2 modifications - all-wheel drive, automatic or manual transmission).

Gearboxes – 6 stepped automatic transmissions and manual transmission, 7-speed robotic box. Drive: either front-wheel drive or plug-in all-wheel drive (in normal mode, torque is supplied to the front axle, but is distributed in a 50 to 50 ratio via an electro-hydraulic clutch).

The SUV in such modifications demonstrates:

  • maximum speed – 182-201 km/h;
  • acceleration to “hundreds” in 9.1-11.8 seconds;
  • fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 6.3-7.9 l/100 km.

The 3rd generation of crossovers is distinguished by a smooth ride, improved handling and no longer resembles the previous “simple” “Korean”.

The platform has undergone changes

Presenting its new creation in 2015, the Korean manufacturer announced a “drastically modified platform” for the crossover. Later it became known that the “trolley” is the same modular platform Kia Sportage, which has undergone changes and is no longer similar to the frame of its predecessor.

Due to updates in the supporting structure, it was possible to increase inner space and, as the manufacturer specified, “to maintain a balance between the dimensions of the car, the comfortable placement of passengers inside and the volume of the trunk.”

The suspension has become “softer”

As before, the 2015-2018 Hyundai Tucson is equipped with an independent McPherson spring suspension at the front and an independent multi-link at the rear with a lateral stabilization system. However, the manufacturer tried to make the suspension “softer”: the McPherson shock absorber rods increased in thickness, and the rear strut arms became longer. These measures played their role: the owners appreciated the changes for the better, but at the same time noted that a high level of comfort was still far away.

Body and exterior

Among the external transformations are changed dimensions and more aggressive features, giving the SUV a sporty, confident character. Since 2015, the body began to be made from high-strength steel of the latest generation, which deforms upon impact, extinguishing energy so as to cause minimal damage to the driver and passengers.

Dimensions

The third generation Hyundai Tussan has become more spacious: the overall dimensions have increased, the ground clearance. To this day, the Korean crossover is available in the following sizes:

  • 4.48 m – length (65 mm more than its predecessor);
  • 1.85 m – width (by 30 mm);
  • 1.66 m – height (by 5 mm);
  • 2.67 m – wheelbase (by 30 mm);
  • 182 mm – ground clearance (by 2 mm);
  • 1454-1690 kg – curb weight.

New appearance

A careful study of the exteriors of the Hyundai Tussan III and its predecessor reveals the following changes:

  • the trapezoidal radiator grille has increased, and the width of its chrome outline has also “grown”, providing the exterior with massive horizontal ribs;
  • on front bumper Hyundai Tucson - clear relief (spectacular stamping of ribs);
  • modified fog lights and thin strips of LED daytime running lights appeared running lights, head optics has acquired more convex and elongated forms, which create the effect of a sort of “expressive look from under the brows”;
  • The angle of the front pillar has decreased, the rising top line has been narrowed towards the rear of the windows - all this has a positive effect on the aerodynamics of the crossover.

  • the hood and side surfaces of the body have increased in volume;
  • the car was endowed with massive wheel arches and wheels of different designs and diameters - from 16 to R19 on top Hyundai versions Tucson.
  • here appeared a massive tailgate and wide, long rear LED lights;
  • the pattern of the side windows is completed with an elegant touch - a small spoiler on the tailgate;
  • Also on the karma we can see a neat bumper with a diffuser and trapezoidal exhaust pipes.

The manufacturer offers to purchase the Hyundai Tucson III in one of 11 available body colors.

Looking at the crossovers produced in 2015-2018, we can safely say that this is a completely different car, which bears little resemblance to its predecessor (the Hyundai ix35). The SUV has completely lost its “Asian features”, acquired a modern and stylish exterior, and is now not inferior in external characteristics to its classmates. But at the same time, it lost its individuality (if not for the emblem, it would be difficult to determine the brand of the car only by appearance).

Increased level of comfort in the cabin

The corporate design style was preserved in the interior of the SUV, but at the same time, engineers and designers managed to modernize the interior and increase the level of comfort due to:

  • installation of ergonomic chairs (equipped with electrically adjustable lumbar area);
  • comfortable and pleasant to the touch multifunctional steering wheel;
  • air ducts for the second row of seats;
  • the use of higher quality materials (the steering wheel is covered in leather, the door cards and instrument panels have a softer plastic finish);
  • using backlighting with a softer blue glow;
  • panoramic roof (in top trim levels).

Controls

The technicians also worked on the internal equipment:

  • the on-board computer has a 4.2-inch color LCD display and a digital instrument panel;
  • premium Infinity audio system installed;
  • the center console has changed, in its upper part there is a navigator screen (in top versions there is an 8-inch multimedia touch screen), under it there is a double row of buttons, and a stylish climate control unit has appeared (with a display and rotating controls);
  • the steering wheel has become more comfortable, equipped with an electric power steering, a heating function, “received” many keys, decorated with an aluminum insert, and covered in leather;
  • and braking is now handled not only by disc brakes (ventilated at the front), but also by numerous electronic assistants.

How spacious is the 3rd generation “Korean”

There is more space in the cabin (the space was increased by changing the dimensions of the car, and in particular the wheelbase). The updated crossover can comfortably accommodate five people.

The seats of the first row in the crossover have changed (they received an improved profile, sufficient quantity adjustments), but still have short cushions (a traditional feature Korean cars) and are equipped with “weak” lateral support. The electric drive is only available as an option.

On the second row, the seats are adjustable (you can only change the backrest angle). Rear seats equipped with air ducts, the armrest remained in the same place. A heating system is available as an option.

Unfortunately, the trunk volume has decreased to 488 liters (you can free up space for transporting large cargo by folding rear seats“to the floor” – up to 1,478 l). A spare tire and a repair kit are hidden in the underground.

Available configurations and prices

Today the manufacturer offers to purchase Hyundai Tucson in 6 modifications: at the beginning of 2018

  • with “mechanics” and front-wheel drive, with a 149 hp engine. – RUB 1,370,000;
  • the same engine equipped with an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive – RUB 1,430,000;
  • or with manual transmission and all-wheel drive – 1,540,000 rubles;
  • or with an automatic transmission and all-wheel drive – RUB 1,590,000;
  • in the middle configuration, a robotic gearbox with all-wheel drive and a 177-horsepower engine is offered for RUB 1,745,000;
  • version with a diesel 185-horsepower unit, all-wheel drive and automatic transmission - for 1,870,000 rubles.

These modifications have recently been updated - especially for Russians in 2018, the automaker endowed the equipment with a new set of technical options and presented a model range Korean crossover as the most optimal for use in Russia (Primary, Family, Lifestyle, Dynamic and Prim configurations with the High-Tech VIP package). For example, average equipment turned out to be equipped LED optics(front and rear), alloy wheels with a diameter of 19R. From technology: blind spot monitoring system, rear view camera, parking sensors, 8-inch multimedia and navigation screen, electric brake with auto-hold functions. The interior is trimmed with mixed leather, the rear sofa seats are heated. The trunk door opens remotely, and keyless access is possible into the cabin. Installation possible additional options(the manufacturer provides a wide selection).

The secondary market offers cars from 2015-2017, which have slightly different characteristics than the SUVs sold today through car dealerships.

Main competitors

The main competitor of the model is still Kia Sportage(only in its updated version), “in the image and likeness” of which the Korean Hyundai Tussan 3 was created.

From year to year, the competition for the South Korean SUV is:

  • Ford Kuga;
  • Honda CR-V;
  • Toyota RAV4;
  • Mitsubishi Outlander;
  • Nissan X-Trail;
  • Chery Tiggo 5.

Features of the model that distinguish it from competitors

The name of the Korean crossover has always been associated with high reliability car, economical expenditure of funds for its maintenance and service. In 2015, new characteristics of the model were added to the list of unique features, previously unknown to it:

  • the level of comfort in the cabin has increased, the aesthetic properties of the car have been improved;
  • improved “driving” characteristics (controllability, dynamism, cross-country ability, fuel consumption);
  • manufacturer equipped updated crossover maximum number of security programs.

The manufacturer tried to outshine its competitors and updated the exterior and interior, creating the third generation of the SUV. Nothing else inside the car “screams” that you find yourself behind the wheel of a modest Korean SUV; on the contrary, you feel high ergonomics, freedom of movement and an order of magnitude improved quality of finishing materials (although still not everywhere, for example, in some places they are used instead soft “oak” plastic, but the interior no longer “creaks” and is not intimidating).

The noise level in the cabin has noticeably decreased (although there were no special complaints about this parameter) - engineers have worked to reduce the engine noise level by high speeds. The mid-range and top trim levels are equipped with an 8-inch multimedia screen, an engine start button and other nice features that owners of competing models can only dream of.

A test drive of the 3rd generation model showed that the technical characteristics of the Hyundai Tucson are at high level thanks to the work of a “well-coordinated tandem” of transmission and power unit, demonstrating decent handling, dynamics (especially in city driving conditions), not too high consumption fuel. However, on the highway you can feel some loss of connection between the steering wheel and the car's handling (experts attribute this “feeling” to the power steering settings). In harsh off-road conditions, the SUV demonstrates good maneuverability (“the electronics work clearly,” transferring torque to rear wheels, which instantly adhere to the ground).

Unlike many competitors, the crossover configurations are equipped with almost all modern systems active and passive safety. Planned updates to the crossover in 2015 made it possible to create more safe car, according to this indicator, the manufacturer received five stars from EuroNCAP for its model (based on the results of the test).

As a result of significant changes in the model, the manufacturer managed to expand the audience of potential buyers: attention to the Korean SUV has recently been attracted not only from family Russians with established habits and values, but also from the young population, among whom it is customary to pay attention to the level of comfort and external characteristics car.

Eliminated deficiencies

Judging by the reviews, one of the main problems has disappeared previous model– “hard” suspension. But, unfortunately, there remains another problem - the “automation” does not always work adequately. Gear shifting has become noticeably smoother, but, according to the owners, “there is no desired transparency in traction control.”

A review of the reviews allows us to draw an unambiguous conclusion: besides the one mentioned, there are no other serious complaints about the Hyundai Tucson. But as small disadvantages users call:

  • “weak” lateral support in the front driver’s seat;
  • not enough space in the trunk;
  • there is not enough heating of the windshield washer nozzles;
  • there is no electric drive for the front seats (only in the top version);
  • the finishing material in the cabin is not always of high quality (in some places there is “hard” plastic);
  • on back row Insufficient smoothness of the seats is felt more strongly, which can overshadow the sensations of traveling long distances;
  • even in the gentle mode, the brakes begin to “smell” when descending a mountain (but do not lose effectiveness).

The list of disadvantages has increased significantly since previous years, and all because achieving a new level of quality brought with it more demands from the consumer. It is worth noting that some of these disadvantages can be eliminated by additionally ordering the appropriate options.

Undoubted advantages

Along with an expanded list of complaints based on owner reviews, an equally significant list of advantages of the 2015-2018 Hyundai Tucson model has been compiled.

  • enlarged discs;
  • comfortable seating in the chair;
  • spectacular appearance (Hyundai Tussan 3 looks different than its predecessor - more modern, more dynamic, sportier);
  • increased level of comfort in the cabin;
  • greater availability of electric assistants even in the standard version;
  • spacious interior (the crossover has become more spacious);
  • good ride quality(dynamics, handling, visibility);
  • wide choice of configurations;
  • optimal level of price/quality ratio;
  • Fuel consumption has become more economical (especially when using a diesel engine), and engines are more powerful;

This is the opinion of car enthusiasts today, what will change with the release of the restyled version - what will users say about the Hyundai Tussan 2019 model year– we still have to find out.
