Technical characteristics of Nissan Murano: overview of all generations. Technical characteristics of Nissan Murano: overview of all generations of Nissan Murano configurations

Nissan Murano is a crossover known throughout the world, which has an unusual exterior, powerful specifications and a comfortable interior. Today, the third generation is being successfully sold on the Russian automobile market, which is best indicator demand for the model. In this article we will look at how the Nissan Murano technical characteristics changed in each generation and what you should pay attention to when buying a car produced in 2016-2017.

First generation of the car

The mid-size crossover Nissan Murano rolled off the assembly line of a Japanese plant in 2003. Initially the model was intended for automotive market America. To create the vehicle, the front-wheel drive FF-L platform was used (the same as the previously released Nissan Altima sedan). The car has a spectacular exterior, as well as stylish interior decoration. Murano was offered to US motorists with two types of power plants - gasoline engine, having a power of 243–249 Horse power, as well as a variator. There was also a choice of car drive type - full and front-wheel drive.

In 2005, the manufacturer considered it necessary to update the first generation, as a result of which the model received a suspension with an impressive reserve of energy capacity, improved technical characteristics, which had the best effect on the vehicle’s handling. Many owners of the first generation Murano noted that the car had significant drawback: If you drive for a long time on uneven terrain, the suspension starts to click a little. But despite this, this representative of the crossover segment coped with various road obstacles without any problems.

It's safe to say that Nissan murano technical characteristics allow us to conclude that the car is more like a reliable and time-tested SUV than a car. If you want to evaluate the full power and ease of controllability of the vehicle, we recommend taking a test drive on snowy road with ESP turned off. It seems that the manufacturer specially adapted the model for slippery surfaces,

It must be said that from the transmission of this crossover Don't expect much. The maximum that can be achieved is the transfer of torque from the slipping front wheels to the rear ones.

Second generation crossover

The presentation of the second generation Nissan Murano took place in the fall of 2007. The vehicle was designed using a specially developed Nissan D platform. The model was significantly modified externally, received expanded equipment, and the model range was replenished with an original convertible version.

Second generation cars were equipped with the same power plants as previous generation. The manufacturer has reduced fuel consumption and also significantly modernized the unit. For European Nissan market Murano was produced with a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine (190 horsepower) and a six-speed automatic transmission. For sale in the USA, the model was equipped with a four-cylinder unit with a power of 170 hp. pp., paired with a variator.

The second generation of a powerful crossover

Owners of the second generation claim that the model can be called premium crossover. On road vehicle It has excellent handling, and fuel consumption corresponds to the indicators included in the official description of the manufacturer.

Third generation Nissan Murano

To the attention of Russian car enthusiasts, before the 2017 restyling, the third generation crossover Nissan Murano was offered with a single option power plantgasoline engine. It had a volume of 3.5 liters and a power of 249 horsepower. The unit was paired with an Xtronic V-chain variator, which had two operating modes. Basic version The crossover was equipped with a front-wheel drive transmission. Top trim levels had an automatically activated all-wheel drive system. In urban conditions, the car's appetite does not exceed 10-10.3 liters. In many European countries there was an opportunity to purchase hybrid version models with a turbo engine producing 234 horsepower.

Back in the spring of 2004, the Nissan Murano and Infiniti FX (already stars of the gray market) appeared in showrooms. An element of an aggressive strategy Nissan Motor on European market the intention was to introduce several, until now exclusively American, models and even the entire Infiniti brand. But everything has its time: production Pathfinder SUV and the Navara pickup truck (aka Frontier) are established in Spain, both cars are also sold in Russia, where they join the 350Z coupe. Now the 1st generation Nissan Murano has joined them.

It took them a long time to make this decision (in America, the Nissan Murano has been offered since the fall of 2002), but, probably, Nissan was afraid to present such a strongly “Americanized” car to the judgment of sophisticated and demanding Europeans - structurally it is a simple car with mediocre driving characteristics, but richly equipped and in bright packaging.

In addition, the Nissan Murano sold well in the United States, production facilities were well utilized, and only when demand for the car stabilized did it become possible to prepare its new version.

It should be noted that Nissan in Europe will not be ashamed of the Murano: despite its apparent simplicity, it is a fairly advanced car. It has an engine with variable phases, a continuously variable variator (which is happening for the first time with an SUV), the transmission can be locked in all-wheel drive mode, and the active safety complex is based on modern system directional stability ESP+.

But the late entry into the market deprives the extravagant Nissan Murano of one of the most important, if not the most important, trump card - the effect of novelty. Everyone understands that in Russia now it is hardly possible to sell as many of these cars as they were sold through “gray channels” a couple of years ago (and this figure reached two thousand a year). The car is no longer new - it’s simply boring.
Another problem is the abundance of the production program of this Japanese brand - SUVs, and one of them, new Pathfinder, is almost in the same price category.
A fair question arises - Why then do we need a Nissan Murano? It is unlikely that Nissan considers its appearance in Europe as big business. Most likely, this car is assigned the role of an icebreaker, ensuring the unimpeded passage of much more important “persons” - representatives of the premium Infiniti brand. It is on the Nissan Murano that the program of adapting these cars to the standards of the European market will be tested.

However, enough about “market relations”, we need to mention the car itself (this is a review of it, after all)... :) As follows from the press release - in Nissan design About three hundred changes were made to the Murano. The main goals pursued by Nissan engineers were to improve handling, increase stability high speeds and increase maximum speed at 10 km/h.
All this required strengthening the body (to ensure higher torsional rigidity), reconfiguring the suspension and correcting the aerodynamics. Sound insulation has also been improved. Other innovations are not so significant. Outside European Nissan Murano can be distinguished from the American one by the absence of foglights, the modified shape of the exterior mirror housings, the platform for European license plates and the lights with different graphics. And the interior has undergone a slight restyling dashboard and center console.

The exterior of the Nissan Murano was, and still is, an amateur. Some people really like its specific design, while others don’t, but denying the fact that the Nissan Murano has its own style is pointless. Another thing is that biodesign, the canons of which the car’s exterior follows, does not combine in the best way with the techno-interior. Opening the door, you find yourself in the realm of vast flat surfaces, such as the front panel extending into the distance under the windshield or the inter-seat console, interspersed with deliberately rough elements, among which the unusual instrument module dominates. As expected in such cases, all this is richly decorated with metal inserts.

But, despite its brutality, the Nissan Murano is very comfortable and cozy, although there are plenty of ergonomic absurdities here. For example, big in appearance information display chock full of small, hard to read pictograms. The steering wheel is adjustable not so much in height as in angle of inclination (as it was on old American cars). Well, the seats are not even seats, but some kind of super-soft chairs in which you simply sink. Not a hint of lateral support! But the adjustment ranges are huge, and the most demanding ones will be pleased with the ability to change the position of the pedals. So getting comfortable will not present the slightest difficulty. AND rear passengers It will be comfortable and spacious no less than for the driver.

The aforementioned soft seats create the illusion of a smooth ride, but in reality this is not entirely true. The suspension here is distinguished by a significant reserve of energy intensity, although it is not pleased with the delicacy of its operation. And if the car doesn’t notice the little things, then as the size of the bumps grows, the Nissan Murano itself begins to bounce, and its suspension starts to knock. Perhaps this is the price to pay for its outstanding handling.
Nissan Murano can be called reliable rather than reckless. The car's responses are quite expected and predictable, but they lack efficiency and accuracy. IN sharp turns There are problems with feedback - it’s good that the rolls are small. As the car approaches the limits of wheel adhesion, it demonstrates its intention to spin the front axle, but ESP harshly suppresses such pranks. In general, the Nissan Murano behaves like a solid SUV, but not at all like a passenger car.

But where the Nissan Murano can show itself is on a snowy road. Turn off ESP and have a lot of fun! The car seems to be designed for sliding, and it does not require any serious training from the driver. The moment of transition into a skid is absolutely predictable, and then the Murano clearly obeys the gas pedal, which allows you to set it sideways at any angle and just as easily return to the required trajectory. And the damped steering with its “calm” settings is a reliable assistant in such situations.

About the Murano transmission - you shouldn’t count on much: the maximum that the car can do is transfer torque from the slipping front wheels to the rear ones. The center coupling can be forcibly blocked, but this has virtually no effect on cross-country ability. But the painted bumpers and small ground clearance have a strong impact. It turns out that all-wheel drive is here for slippery roads and no more.
But, in fairness, when was the last time you saw an expensive SUV storming the dirt? Much more often, such cars get involved in street racing and maneuver among passing cars. And in this Nissan plan Murano performs more than convincingly - thanks to the torquey engine and Xtronic variator. The Murano starts a little hard and at first picks up speed lazily, but the transition from the first stage to the second changes everything. The switching occurs barely noticeably, the engine does not have time to lose speed and demonstrates its character. The Murano immediately takes off from the traffic, and a few moments later leaves its competitors far behind. For those who strive to have full control over what is happening, provided manual mode variator switching, but, of course, it does not provide any special advantages - just a toy (to satisfy the habit).

Nissan Murano price: The Nissan Murano simply doesn’t have a choice of trim levels. The fact is that Murano (at the time of writing this article) is supplied to Europe and Russia in a single (maximum) configuration. The complex of safety systems includes ESP+, traction control TCS system, six pillows and a function automatic shutdown fuel supply (in case of an accident). On the outside, the car is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights, plus roof rails. The interior is: leather interior, climate control, on-board computer with monochrome LCD display, Bose audio system with CD and automatic sound volume control system, sunroof, electric driver's seat and pedal assembly, multifunction steering wheel, plus all sorts of little things that add comfort. The color scheme includes one of seven body paint options. Anyway, Nissan price Murano will be one ~$57,000.

For quite some time now, fans of cars from model range Murano, which is produced by the Japanese manufacturer Nissan, is awaiting release new version of this machine. Relatively recently it was officially presented newest restyling Nissan model Murano 2019 model year. This car has undergone several significant, and even radical, changes in terms of design and technical characteristics; below are photos of the car.

The long-awaited 2019 Nissan Murano arouses sympathy among car enthusiasts at first sight. It impresses viewers with its unique interior and exterior design, advanced technologies, low fuel consumption (low consumption) and amazing technical characteristics power units.

Nissan Murano will appeal not only to fans of this type of car, but also to those who prefer to keep up with the times, chasing all the new products modern life. This, by the way, has been fully proven by what has already appeared on the network about Nissan Murano. real reviews owners and photos.

As mentioned above, new Nissan The 2019 Murano gets a completely new and unique design. At the same time, despite the fact that this vehicle was first presented back in 2014, all design elements, as well as technological details, look extremely good, given the current level of development of the automotive industry.

In addition to the body, a unique interior design was also developed for the Nissan Murano Z52. The interior has been equipped with the latest technological enhancements, high-quality materials, and an increased number of free space.

Exterior

It is worth immediately making a reservation that the exterior of the Nissan Murano in the photo has practically no connection with one or another configuration in which this car is produced. That is, by purchasing this vehicle, you will in any case be able to enjoy modern design elements, which, in addition, significantly help in driving the car.

The most significant exterior parts included in the basic Nissan Murano package include:

  • headlight washer;
  • side rear-view mirrors with direction indicators and heating system (painted to match the body color);
  • rear spoiler on the tailgate;
  • front and rear sensors parking (4+4=8);
  • 18-inch alloy wheels;
  • rear fog lamp;

  • sun strip on the windshield;
  • LED headlights with automatic leveling (Bi-LED);
  • LED brake light (auxiliary);
  • modern shock absorbers for the hood (gas);
  • UV filter and tinting of rear and side windows.

IN top-end configuration Nissan Murano, by the way, the number of extensions is replenished with only a few minor elements. Thus, prices depend largely on the power of the car.

It is important to complement the above with the fact that new Nissan The 2019 Murano has increased slightly in size, as can be seen in the photo. If you compare the Nissan Murano with its predecessor (Murano Z51), then it is in terms of the exterior that you can find significant differences in terms of dimensions.

Interior

Salon of this car can be called unique not only for the model range, but for the entire class. Nissan Murano 2019 official photos which can be found on the Internet, provides each owner basic configuration dozens of different extensions, which can also be replenished thanks to additional packages.

A complete list of all extensions available in the base Nissan equipment The 2019 model year Murano can be found on the developer’s official website on the Internet.

In order to fully understand all the pros and cons of the Nissan Murano, or rather the interior, it is recommended that you read the owner reviews and photos of the car. Also, do not ignore the opinions of professional critics. For example, there is a lot of free space in the cabin, the consumption of which depends entirely on the owner, and the opinion of an expert is very important here.

Cost and options

The minimum configuration of the Nissan Murano 2019 is not much different from the top-end version of this car. The main differences are that the maximum assembly is equipped with several additional technological extensions and has a larger number of basic car systems.

Nissan Murano, 2015

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a new Nissan Murano (Z52). To make it clear, I previously drove an Infiniti FX45, Land Rover Freelander 2 diesel, Volvo XC60 diesel. I’ll say right away, I was choosing between Pajero Sport new 2016 and Nissan Murano. I did a test drive and realized that those who are fishermen and hunters do not have small children, then the Pajero (the spine falls into the underpants especially at the back, no offense to Pajero fans). Since I have a small child, I understand that the Nissan Murano is a good old Infiniti in terms of convenience. Chassis: I have an R20, it drives steadily and quietly, everything is basically good, the package is complete, I just don’t know what else you can put in the car. Consumption: while I'm driving in eco mode - the average is 11.2 liters per 100 km, I tried it in normal mode, it turned out to be 13-14 liters, but I haven't driven it yet, we can talk about consumption normally after the first maintenance. The trunk is enough for a family, the snowboard fits, but with tension. But it is larger than in the FX45. In general, if you don’t need to drive through swamps, but only on country roads and asphalt, it’s comfortable and convenient - this is your car. In terms of price and quality, I don’t think you will find anything better. Good luck to everyone on the roads.

Advantages : BOSE system. Equipment. Noise insulation. Maintenance every 15 thousand km.

Flaws : Exhaust pipe mounting.

Nissan Murano, 2017

One of the disadvantages of the Nissan Murano is that it has a small trunk for this size of car. Automatic window lifter only 1. When the windows are locked, everything except the driver's window is blocked, including for the driver. Automatic closing doors cannot be adjusted. The automatic folding of the mirrors also cannot be configured. The trunk curtain is stupid, it eats up space in height and cannot be removed under the floor. They said there is a sensor high beam, well, it exists, only it is deactivated. The leather on the steering wheel looks like it was torn off from some kind of dinosaur. At parking speeds the steering is heavy. The '17 car does not have Google Car play. The configuration of the bottom is disgusting, a lot of hanging protruding parts. 20 wheels - hard, knocking on the joints, if it were possible, I would take 18s. All-round cameras, the picture quality could be better. No heating windshield. The coloring is really thin, I measured it with a thickness gauge - the range is 45-100 microns.

On the plus side. The engine, the most important plus of the Nissan Murano, in my opinion, is a 3.5 liter V-shaped “aspirated” engine. The variator - in my opinion, in combination with the engine, is more of a plus rather than a minus, but we'll see in the winter. The salon has a lot of space both front and rear, both in length and width. Rear backrests The tilt is adjustable, and the range is wide, you can actually almost lie down. Light - the head light is very good (before this there was a car with factory xenon, this one is better). Seats - soft, comfortable ventilation, front side- leather, everything else is leatherette. The only thing missing is the length adjustment of the pillow. Consumption is quite reasonable for a car of this mass and with such an engine: outside the city, speed range 90-140, the average was 9 liters, in the city 13.5. But if you're stuck in traffic jams for 18 - 20, it's good that traffic jams are a rare occurrence in our country. Let's see how it will be in winter. Record 8.2 on the highway in heavy traffic speed 80-90. There is a standard autostart - we'll check its usefulness in the winter. Large multimedia screen - easy to poke. The sound - I'm certainly not a music lover, but overall it's good, although there are few settings and there is no equalizer. In terms of noise, it’s good at speeds up to 160, but above that it’s a bit noisy. In terms of smoothness on the highway, this is rather a plus; for its height, the Nissan Murano drives normally, although there is some swaying on local roads. Well exterior design- I like it, it stands out against the background of all sorts of VW Touareg and Audi Q7 of previous generations, of which we have many in the city.

Advantages : in the review.

Flaws : in the review.

Nissan Murano, 2016

What did you like about the Nissan Murano? The VQ35 engine, familiar to me for a long time from the Infiniti FX35, but now it is different, pulls from the bottom and spins up with lightning speed. The gearbox is a variator, yes, it’s not an Aisin 7 mortar, but it is very well tuned and makes an excellent match for the engine. I hope it won't let you down. There is no trolleybus effect; an inexperienced driver will not understand that this is a CVT. The brakes are fine. But, alas, these are only 2-piston calipers, and the diameter of the discs is not impressive. The equipment is TOP, for the money it suits, perhaps, everyone. Noise insulation. All the noise is through the glass, below there is silence on the asphalt. Nothing squeaks from the interior, we'll continue to look. Comfort. After FX, it’s just some kind of holiday, even at 20 skating rinks. Cluttered, energy-intensive. Large salon. Much more FX. The consumption of the 3.5 liter engine is pleasing.

What I didn’t like: extremely controversial design solution torpedoes, the right knee rests against the panel. You have to move further away than you would like (relevant only for heights greater than 185 cm). But, nevertheless, I freely sit down by myself, which is surprising. Steering wheel. Great effort at parking speeds. The steering wheel has a larger diameter, less sharp than the FX, and you have to turn the steering wheel more. I'm not used to it yet, perhaps. There are no complaints about taxiing at speed. There is a roll, noticeable after the Infiniti, but you have to pay for comfort, and there is not much roll. Small trunk. 450 liters versus 660 Sorento Prime. It's a shame, but not critical for me. Service interval 15,000 km. This is a lot, I will change the oil 2 times more often. High level windows, you can’t place your elbow on the top panel of the door, it’s narrow and high. Leather quality. Most likely, it is not leather at all. The bottom line is high, comfortable car, with an excellent engine-box connection, with a specific design from Japanese manufacturer with full three year warranty By great price(if you take last year's car and bargain).

Advantages : large salon. Comfort. Noise insulation. Motor box.

Flaws : The steering wheel is a bit heavy in a parking lot. Leather quality.

Nissan Murano, 2018

I haven’t owned a Nissan before, I’ve only driven Kruzaks, so I can only compare it with a Toyota. I think that the Nissan Murano is great car both for the city and for the highway. On the plus side - brakes, dynamics, comfortable seats, passable sound insulation, consumption on the highway up to 100 km/h is 9 liters, in the city it reached 20 liters. Nissan Murano showed itself excellently during snowfalls; when changing lanes at speed, it jumps one or two times over ruts and snowy curbs. The downside is that it's a short move. rear suspension, rear pillars tapping on speed bumps. The blowing of the front side windows is not well thought out; from minus 10, the front windows fog up, which interferes with visibility rear mirrors. At 3000 km I noticed oil fogging from under the front valve cover from the oil dipstick side. When we contacted the dealer with this problem, they filled up the leak and told us to come back after 1000 km and we’ll keep an eye on it. Also, at first the gearbox was annoying with its hum at speeds from 0-20 km/h, but now I’m used to it, apparently this is how it should be. There was also a “glitch” of the light sensor when leaving the parking lot in daylight hours day the low beam did not switch to running lights, the problem was solved by restarting the engine. After some time everything worked as it should. On this moment I'll keep an eye on the mileage of 3500 km, and if anything comes up, I'll write.

Advantages : dynamics. Controllability. Patency. Comfort.

Flaws : rear suspension.

Nissan Murano, 2017

I’ve had the car for almost 2 years, why I’m writing a review only now, I don’t know, probably because the awareness of what a car is can only be achieved after enough time has passed. So, in 2 years I have driven almost thousand, done almost 4 maintenance and am happy with almost everything. The worst thing, in my opinion, is to understand after time that your choice was not the right one, this, thank God, did not happen and the Nissan Murano makes me happy to this day. Of course, I wanted something new, but the car still meets all my requirements. Soft suspension, adequate brakes, a large and reliable naturally aspirated engine and the most dubious part of the car - the variator, although there are no problems with it either, everything works like a clock, smoothly and softly. In winter, autostart helped out; by the way, it’s standard and works adequately, in long journey TV in the headrests helped out, because The children enjoyed watching the cartoons and did not bother us with questions. The trunk of the Nissan Murano is not the largest in the class, but it has a huge interior, and on a trip with my family to Crimea, taking into account the things for me, my wife and two children, everything fit and there was enough of everything, so in principle we need even more luggage compartment I do not see. So overall the car is very decent and better offers at that time there was simply no ratio between the money paid and the comfort and wealth of equipment received. Now I’m thinking about changing the car after the warranty expires and maybe I’ll come back to the Nissan Murano, but that’s not certain. It’s a pity that there is no “Patrol” in Russia, but maybe that will change. But the negative point in the Nissan Murano is the fuel consumption, which for me is 14-15 liters and not less than once, not under any circumstances, maybe due to an active driving style or something else, but the fact remains a fact. And the lack of One Touch on the passenger window is much more annoying than fuel consumption. I think I have everything.

Advantages : dynamics. Appearance. Reliability. Maintenance cost. Suspension. Comfort. Noise insulation. Cabin capacity. Controllability.

Flaws : multimedia. Trunk.

The Nissan Murano crossover in the Z52 body came out on Russian market only in 2016, although the official premiere of the new product took place a couple of years ago. The lion's share of the time that passed from the moment of debut to the start of Russian sales was spent on the so-called adaptation of the car to our conditions. During the tests, optimal chassis settings were selected, which significantly reduced sway and body roll. The suspension design itself has not changed: MacPherson struts are used at the front, and an independent multi-link at the rear.

The new version of the 2016-2017 Nissan Murano is based on the Nissan D platform, which is also used for and. The body has high strength and torsional resistance, surpassing the pre-reform power frame in these indicators. During the change of generations, they were adjusted dimensions crossover: length increased to 4898 mm (+38 mm), width - to 1915 mm (+30 mm). The height of the SUV, on the contrary, decreased slightly – from 2720 to 1691 mm (-29 mm). Remained unchanged wheelbase– 2825 mm.

The range of power units of the model traditionally does not indulge in variety. There are only two engines available for the Russian Murano, and both of them are well known to us from the Pathfinder. The first engine is a six-cylinder old-timer VQ35DE with a displacement of 3.5 liters, tuned to produce 249 hp. and 325 Nm. The second unit is a hybrid installation formed by a tandem of a QR25DER 2.5 liter petrol four (234 hp, 330 Nm) and a synchronous motor (20 kW, 160 Nm). There is only one gearbox - a continuously variable Xtronic chain variator with a torque converter.

The crossover with a petrol V6 is offered in front- and all-wheel drive configurations. Hybrid Nissan The Murano Z52 comes in 4WD mode by default. Connectable all-wheel drive is implemented using multi-plate clutch, installed in front rear axle. The coupling's resistance to overheating, decent ground clearance (184 mm) and good geometry allow Japanese crossover confidently storm off-road areas.

With similar traction characteristics of a regular V6 and hybrid installation the latter saves fuel much better. In mixed mode, the difference in fuel consumption is 1.6 liters (9.9 versus 8.3 liters). At the same time, the acceleration dynamics of both versions with the all-wheel drive version of the Nissan Murano 3.5 are comparable.
