Three years after the official opening, the Kaluga plant Continental managed to reach full production capacity and produce 3 million tires. By the end of 2016, the plant had created about 1,000 jobs in the region.

Tires produced in Kaluga are supplied to the Russian market and abroad - to 23 countries in Europe, Asia and North America, including China, Canada and the Czech Republic - both for secondary use and on the conveyors of automakers. The company is developing cooperation with automobile manufacturers, and now tires are supplied to the assembly lines of Renault, Ford, AvtoVAZ, Nissan, Volkswagen and SGMW (China).

“The current trend of growing demand for tires for the original equipment of cars is evidence of trust in Kaluga-made products on the part of the most demanding client - car manufacturers, and not only Russian market, but also abroad. This became possible thanks to modern technologies, an efficient production process, great attention to product quality and, of course, the tire industry professionals who work at our enterprise,” said Georgy Rotov.

According to him, since its opening, the Continental plant in Kaluga has demonstrated stable development, even despite the volatility and instability of the market. In 2017, he will increase production volume and work to expand the product portfolio.

“Now the plant faces new challenges: in order to meet the growing demand for Kaluga-made tires, we have to focus on increasing production capacity within the existing building and, of course, prepare production for the introduction of new technologies and the launch of new products in the future,” noted Mr. Rotov.
