Operating experience of Octavia Tour 1.6

Good day to all!

I want to talk about the operation of the Skoda Octavia Tour 1.6 liter. 2006 Before that, in addition to our cars, at different times I owned 2 Mercedes in the 124 body with an engine capacity of 2.3 liters. (102 engine) and 2 l. (111 engine), and also drove various foreign cars that my friends owned (including BMW, AUDI, INFINITY). But I will compare it with a Mercedes, although, of course, Skoda and Mercedes are different cars both in class, comfort, and engine size.

First, let's talk about how and why I bought the Skoda. You could say I bought it by accident, after my Mercedes was stolen. After the car was stolen, I needed something to drive, so I temporarily purchased a model 12 Lada (due to lack of money). After the Mercedes, of course, “about nothing”, the dynamics and comfort were terribly infuriating, but the dacha rules and it was necessary to get to it with something. But after a year of driving I couldn’t stand it, I sold the VAZ and, taking out a loan, bought a Skoda. When choosing a car, I didn’t initially consider it, because I didn’t want to take out a loan (by the way, the loan was closed ahead of schedule and the person has long been free))). I looked at Lancer, Ford Focus, Renault Megan and Hyundai Sonata. Lancer, in principle, was considered as an option, but the prices for servicing a C-class car are simply astronomical, and since the exclusive dealer of Mitsubishi is the company RO*** and its subsidiaries, the choice disappeared naturally due to same price for service. Ford - frankly speaking, I just didn’t like it after the Mercedes. The driver's seat is quite cramped; due to the wide center console, the knee rests against the console when you press the gas pedal. In addition, the dead engine is absolutely uninteresting, even if it has the same volume and power as the Skoda. But there was still a chance to buy a Ford. At that time, there were queues for a Ford, and I accidentally found a small store on Skolkovskoe Highway, where the buyer refused the car. I arrived at the salon, there was a car with a 1.8 engine (I didn’t drive), but as a passenger I had to drive a Ford with that engine size (though I can’t remember the model) and I liked the dynamics of the engine. So, there was a station wagon in the showroom, and while a friend and I were looking at the car, another buyer also refused a sedan with a similar engine. But after sitting in both Fords, I still didn’t decide to buy (which, however, I don’t regret at all). And those Fords, by the way, were immediately taken by others as soon as I told the manager that we wouldn’t take them. Sonata - everything would be fine, but the price of the car did not fit into my budget, and besides, the quality of the body paint, as I have read about on forums more than once, leaves much to be desired. Although the car itself is very good. In terms of interior volume and sound insulation, it is close to the Merc, although everything else is not correct to compare. But the naked car cost 19.5 thousand American rubles, and my budget was initially 17 thousand. As I already wrote, I looked at the Skoda by chance. I remembered that even before the car was stolen, my friend and I once looked at an Octavia, also with a 1.6 engine from 1998. Despite its age, the body was in excellent condition(not counting the chips that formed due to the daily use of the car on the highway, since the owner lived outside the city), and the dynamics of the 1.6 engine frankly surprised me then (I did not drive it). I must say that four of us got into the car (the driver, me, my friend and his wife), and my friend is not small and at that time he alone weighed about 110 kilograms, but everyone else was “within normal limits.” As soon as the doors closed, the driver took a “low” start and after a few seconds we found ourselves in the left lane and picked up speed over 100 km/h. A friend was looking for a car at the time, so at first I didn’t know what the engine size was, and at that time I owned a 2-liter Merc (111 engine, 16 valve), I decided that the Octa’s engine was no smaller. And now I remembered that trip in the Octavia and decided to go into the salon to have a look. I liked the car both for the classic design of the body and for the German quality of the interior (after all, the interior of the 4 Golf, even if it is now outdated and looks very ascetic). In addition, a huge trunk (bad guys know what I mean) is an indispensable thing for a family person (without problems, folding part of the seat back, I transport two adult bicycles, a bunch of cargo and two passengers in the back seat). The price tag of 19 thousand was too high for me at that time, but realizing that I couldn’t get anything decent for less, I ordered a car and began to wait. By the way, now I regret that I didn’t take the 1.8 turbo, but, I repeat, at that time the amount was 19 thousand for me, and a turbocharged Skoda cost at least 21 thousand dollars. While waiting, I almost bought a Megan (I started looking at other cars, because my car was already 2 weeks late). One of my friends is a renovator. At different times he had a new Renault 19 and Renault Laguna, with which he was 100% satisfied. But with VW, which owns Skoda, things somehow didn’t work out for him. His mom had a Golf 4 that was causing trouble, so he advised me to look at Renault. In my opinion, the Megan has a pretty decent 1.6 liter engine, a suspension that is neither soft nor hard, an interesting dashboard design and a more spacious interior compared to the Skoda. In principle, I was ready to buy, but then they called from the salon and said that my Skoda had arrived.

So, my feelings about owning the car for over 5 years. The interior is still in shape even after the accident suffered the day before (2-ton executive sedan rammed the entire starboard side, the pillar went 7 cm, I had to change both doors and the threshold). The cabin is quiet, only occasionally small crickets appear when the temperature outside drops, or in hot weather. But it’s absolutely not critical, although I’m a “listener” and any extraneous sounds I'm annoyed. The plastic on the dashboard is soft, on the doors - a little harder, but still, whatever you say, it is German, albeit with Czech filling, and its quality is definitely better than in Japanese and American ones. The design is of course outdated, but still, IMHO, it is better than in ford mondeo, for example, where even in the new model you feel like you’re sitting in some kind of toy car. Ergonomics - everything is adjusted and comfortable. The only annoying thing is the effort that has to be applied when engaging 1st gear, but this is a disease of all Skoda gearboxes with a 1.6 engine (there is no such thing on the 1.8). The seats are quite grippy and moderately hard; after 300 km of continuous road the back does not get tired. Lateral support is at the level, although for me, with average height and weight (height - 176, weight - 81), Octavia seats with a sports package or Golf seats 6 are preferable due to more developed lateral support bolsters. The engine is, in my opinion, very good for its size. I have repeatedly read on forums that the 1.6 is too weak and does not move at all. I’m by no means a racer, although I’m used to accelerating dynamically, so I can say that it all depends on the gasket between the steering wheel and the seat))). It’s quite enough for the city, I don’t feel inferior. Subjectively, you feel the thrust from the very bottom, unlike the same Focus or Lancer, where the engine is “empty” at the bottom. Although the torque is not great (if I’m not mistaken, 145 Nm), the successful combination of engine and gearbox does its job. Of course, the engine is not enough on the track. At a speed of 120-140 you have to go to the right if a more powerful unit is pushing you, since acceleration after 120, if you don’t push downshift, very lethargic. By the way, for a Mercedes, with its mass, 2.3 and 2 liters is also not much. But this volume was quite enough for me (although in my heart I always wanted 3 liters, no less), and if someone on the highway pressed my butt, I simply pressed the gas and the gelding quickly accelerated to 150-160 km/h, and only if after that (which did not happen often), if the driver of the other car wanted to go faster, I let him through, because... I think that our roads are not suitable for high speeds. In addition, this is a time-tested engine, unpretentious to fuel quality and starts perfectly even in 30 degree frosts. By the way, about the smoothness of the ride - I consider the Merc to be one of the best in terms of smoothness of the ride (the leaders, in my opinion, are also BMW, Audi and Lexus), but the Octavia is quite on par in this regard. There is something in common between it and the Merc, which is why I chose it, because after the Merc it’s generally difficult, IMHO, to drive anything else, and even in a lower class. Like a man who has been driving different cars, including the named brands, I can say that all German cars There is something in common in the feeling of how the car drives. And even if it is incorrect to compare a subcompact Octavia with a 3.0 engine, for example, a BMW X5, the ride quality is very good for its size (after all, younger brother Volkswagen and Audi). My friend, for example, really likes to drive his wife’s Audi A3 with the same engine capacity as my Octavia, although he himself has 3 liter BMW. And the small volume does not bother him. The truth must be said that high speeds(for 140) Skoda is not very comfortable. Due to the small volume, the engine roars (at 150 rpm 5,000), the standard stability of the car at high speeds for its class and price drops, which, in my opinion, is to blame for the spacers in the shock absorber struts, which most are equipped with foreign cars supplied to our market. The same Merc moved like an iron at any speed and with increasing speed it was pressed even more tightly to the asphalt, while the Skoda, on the contrary, becomes more nimble, or something. Somehow I don’t want to go faster than 150, but a comfortable speed is up to 140 km/h.

Sound insulation - decent enough for budget car. If you don’t rush out of traffic lights and don’t rev the engine up to 5,000 rpm, the cabin is quite quiet (if, of course, you’ve driven an S class before, then the Skoda will seem like a five-wheeler to you by noise).

The quality of the iron - well, even here it will give a head start expensive foreign cars(Lexuses are touching at prices ranging from 50 to 100 thousand dollars, which after small scratches or the dents become covered with rust). After almost 6 years of year-round use, there is no rust, which was confirmed by the car mechanic who restored the car after the accident and boiled off the old threshold. Which, however, is not surprising, because the body is double galvanized and unpainted chips, if any, are not afraid of it for several years. The overall quality of the car - nothing serious has happened in 5 years, only routine maintenance(oil, filter, pads). The only thing was that the rubber on the door came loose due to the heat (it was replaced under warranty). Well, among the consumables, I also changed the box support and 2 silent blocks, as well as the radiator supports for the cooling system. Everything else is still original, incl. and on the suspension. Ahead is the 90 thousand service, where according to the regulations, in addition to the oil, the rollers and timing belt are also changed.

Handling - well, as I already said, at speeds up to 140 it rides like on rails. In general, the handling is typical for a German car (I repeat that I consider the Octavia to be German, because it is based on a golf platform and even in the interior it is 90% 4 golf). The suspension is rigid, but not wooden, as, for example, on a BMW, where every unevenness is reflected in the body (which is surprising, because the suspension BMW fives, for example, elastic, but not wooden) and responds at the fifth point of its passengers. Although the handling of any BMW, in my opinion, is standard. Well, again, it forces you to steer at speed, which cannot be said about a Mercedes, where a moderately stiff suspension and a moderately sharp steering wheel allow you to drive the car with one hand even at high speeds.

In conclusion, I want to say that I am by no means a fan of the Skoda brand and there are certainly many others good cars in the C class. In the future, they are considering purchasing a Mercedes C class or an Audi A4, as well as a Volkswagen Passat (though this is already a D+). But I sincerely consider Skoda one of best cars in its price category. In addition, for a family man it is indispensable assistant on trips to the country, when you need to stuff everything into the car at once. But there are a lot of good cars and my review is just the subjective opinion of a person who needed a lot of car for little money. I am by no means going to argue with anyone here or prove to anyone with foam at the mouth the superiority of Skoda over other brands (especially since I don’t think so). How many people - so many opinions. The only thing I want to say is that German cars will always be my priority, even with all the reliability of the Japanese (it’s no secret that the quality of the Germans has now dropped), because I like the strict, no-frills interior of the Germans, thoughtful ergonomics, good quality paint coating. And I don't want to buy for lam with extra car and after 2 years, sell it just because it bloomed (like Camry or Tiana, for example (I’m not speaking from hearsay, my work colleagues encountered similar problems), with all due respect to these brands). Although I wouldn’t refuse the legendary Kruzak, it’s a completely different car, including in terms of cost, maintenance and gasoline costs. In principle, I don’t consider used cars, because I’m fed up with the constant expectation that every 2 months something needs to be repaired on the car (in fairy tales about the fact that at 7-10 summer car I only change consumables and that’s it - I don’t believe it, because my geldings were in very good condition for their age (they were 10 years old, even the mechanics were surprised at their condition), but the age of the car makes itself felt in any case, and there are simply no eternal cars). Besides, modern cars are crammed with electronics, so problems often arise on machines up to 3 years old. More than once I had the opportunity to buy, for example, an 8-year-old BMW or Audi A8, but for the reasons mentioned above, I consider such a purchase to be madness for a family man. In addition, these are cars where you should always have at least 100 thousand in your pocket, since the cost of spare parts for these executive cars is simply off the charts. And you can only afford such expenses if you are a young guy, not burdened with anything.

The Skoda Octavia Tour is rightfully considered one of the best-selling models that belong to the “D” segment. The model is quite unpretentious and affordable, its maintenance is relatively inexpensive, and its technical characteristics allow it to compete with more expensive models this class.

Description of power units

The first Skoda models Octavia Tour rolled off the assembly line in 2004. Buyers were offered a total of 10 different options for this car, depending on the type and volume power unit, as well as the type of transmission. The table below shows the main technical characteristics of the power units of all Skoda Octavia Tour models.

Fuel type Power unit volume, cubic cm. Power indicator Number of valves per working cylinder Number of revolutions per minute Torque (Nm/rpm)
1 Petrol 1389 75 4 5000 126/3800
2 Petrol 1595 102 2 5600 148/3800
3 Petrol 1595 102 4 5600 148/3800
4 Petrol 1781 150 2 4000 24/1800
5 Petrol 1781 150 4 5700 285/4600
6 Diesel 1896 101 2 4000 240/1800
7 Diesel 1896 90 2 4000 210/1900
8 Diesel 1896 101 4 4000 325/1800
9 Diesel 1896 110 2 4150 235/1900
10 Diesel (permanent all-wheel drive) 1896 90 2 4000 210/1900

The power unit of the models is traditionally located transversely in the front part engine compartment. The working cylinders are arranged according to the L4 scheme. Skoda Octavia Tour models were offered to buyers with five-speed mechanical boxes gear shift and with four-speed automatic transmissions. Gasoline engines are overhead valve with a side camshaft, while the fuel supply system is injection with a fuel distribution system.

Dimensions

The Octavia Tour is largely similar in size to similar representatives of the same segment. Car bodies differ slightly depending on the production series. Thus, representatives of the 1U2-2000 series have a length of 4507 mm. The width of these cars is 1731 mm and the height is 1431 mm. Representatives of the 1U5-2000 series are slightly larger previous models. So, their length is 4513 mm, width 1731 mm and height 1457 mm.

Characteristics ground clearance or the ground clearance for both models is the same and amounts to 134 mm.

Wheelbase of the described machines is 2512 mm. The distance between the front wheels is 1513 mm, and the rear wheels are 1494 mm. At the same time, there is a difference in the volume of trunks of representatives of the two production series. Thus, 1U2-2000 allows you to place cargo in the trunk, the volume of which is 528 liters (with the second row seats folded down, this figure is more significant and amounts to 1328 liters. Characteristics of the trunk capacity of representatives of the 1U5-2000 series are 548 liters in the standard version and 1512 liters with transformed rear seats. Fuel tank capacity for all. Octavia models Tour is the same and is 55 liters. The curb weight of the vehicles is 1205 kg.

Suspension and braking system

Models Octavia Tour equipped with front suspension, the design of which is made according to the MacPherson type. The operation of this mechanism is quite effective, and the reliability of the original components allows you to operate the car even in the most extreme conditions. Judging by the reviews of many owners of the described model, the suspension life is quite long, and the simplicity of the design allows you to replace the component parts yourself. Mechanism rear suspension The vehicle is equipped with a transverse stabilizer.

Brakes on both front and rear rear wheels have a disk mechanism. Technical design brake discs provides for the presence of special holes that provide natural ventilation and cooling of these parts. It should be noted that earlier versions of the models were equipped with rear brake discs conventional design, i.e. without special holes.

Performance indicators

The performance indicators of the described models largely depend on the technical characteristics and type of power unit. Thus, the maximum speed ranges from 171 km/h to 191 km/h. The time it takes the car to accelerate to 100 km/h can take from 11.2 seconds to 15.3 seconds. Fuel consumption in urban operating conditions gasoline models is 9.1 liters to 10.7 liters. Diesel models consume an average of about 6.3 - 6.7 liters of diesel fuel in urban conditions.

Equipment

It is worth noting that the models. which were intended for domestic market, were offered to buyers with such additional equipment, How special package for roads of poor quality, on-board computer, frontal airbags, ABS system etc. Some modifications were equipped with a central locking mechanism.

The machine is good and reliable, especially in winter the system helped a lot exchange rate stabilization, plus it has all-wheel drive, and is not inferior in handling even to the new Germans, as well as in dynamics. Low consumption fuel, the body of the car is also strong, the body is galvanized, there is no corrosion on it, spare parts are inexpensive, you can also get them from a Volkswagen Passat B5.

Skoda Octavia Tour, 2010

Great family car in its price category. Design for those who love German classics - everything is in its place, everything is at hand. There are no complaints about the chassis, the suspension is moderately elastic, sound insulation is good (better compared to Japanese and Korean classmates). The engine is simple and reliable, consumes little and 92 gasoline, the dynamics are quite enough to move around the city and on the highway. The advantage of the car is the trunk.

Skoda Octavia Tour, 2008

Skoda Octavia Tour is a cool car! Large trunk, very stable on the highway, etc. And now the downsides: Creaking from the first days rear doors appeared. At 58,000 km, I replaced the timing belts and weak front struts. In winter, passengers sitting on back seat cold, takes a long time to warm up after starting (in winter), instrument lighting lamps, engine lights burned out. 1.4 is weak for its weight, it takes a long time to accelerate, it eats a lot, it’s a little dark at night - there’s not enough lighting... And most importantly: service is expensive and at the service station they can lie that they provided this or that service, but in fact they won’t provide it.. So I'm happy Skoda car Octavia Tour after VAZ.

Skoda Octavia Tour, 2007

Skoda Octavia Tour is just a super car for a family, it couldn’t be better... Comfortable car- driving long distances is not stressful, my family and I go south every year, luggage is not a problem - the trunk is 560 liters. Relax? The seats are spread out to full height. The dynamics are excellent, many are simply mistaken that the engine is small, only 1.4, it is necessary to fill in pure gasoline, such as Shell or Gazprom 95. And the dynamics are no worse than 1.6, only the consumption is lower: in the city - 7 liters, on the highway - 5 , 5-6.5 l. Advantages of the car: Operation is not annoying, consumables and oil every 8-10 thousand km. Disadvantages: This car simply doesn't have any. I recommend the Skoda Octavia Tour to everyone.

Skoda Octavia - this car with Czech roots has virtually no equal in the world. secondary market. After all, he has excellent characteristics, “timeless” design, huge trunk, as well inexpensive service. Since the model is no longer produced, when purchasing, customers pay attention specifically to technical indicators, as well as dimensions. The vast majority of copies come in a hatchback body.

Options

The Skoda's dimensions are not out of the ordinary. The length of the Octavia is 4,507 mm, while the width is 1,731 mm, with a model height of 1,431 mm. The wheelbase reaches a quite respectable 2,512 mm. The Octavia's ground clearance is not the most impressive, but sufficient - 134 mm. The model is quite heavy, which is explained by the thick metal of the body panels. Its curb weight is 1,270 kg, while the total weight reaches 1,855 kg.

It is noteworthy that such dimensions allowed the designers to provide Skoda with a huge luggage compartment. Its useful volume is 528 liters, and when the sofa is folded it reaches an impressive 1,328 liters.

Engines

The variety of engines found on the Tour is truly impressive - as many as 9 modifications! True, some of them are almost never found here, because they are only available on fitted models.

Gasoline engines

Low-power ones come first, especially for heavy Skoda, gasoline engines. This is a 1.4-liter MPI, with a capacity of 75 horses, and a similar output, but already a 1.6-liter engine. However, such engines for Octavia are very rare in our country. They all have 4 cylinders, each with exactly the same number of valves. Skoda engines have an in-line layout, an injector, and high revs, at which the already low power is achieved. For the 1.4 MPI this is 5,000 rpm, complemented by 126 Nm of thrust achieved at 3,300 rpm. For a 1.6-liter Tour engine, this is 4,600 rpm, as well as 3,200 rpm, at which there are 135 “newtons” of torque. It is not surprising that the dynamics of these engines is very sluggish - 15.3 seconds. for the 1.4-liter and 14.8 sec. for 1.6-liter. The Tour's maximum speed is also low: in the first case it will be 171 km/h, and in the second – 172 km/h.

Much more popular were the 102-horsepower, 1.6-liter Octavia engines, which are found on most models. These are 4-cylinder, but already 8-valve units with the same in-line cylinder arrangement. They produce peak power at 5,600 rpm, and peak thrust at 148 Nm of torque is at 3,800 rpm. The dynamics here are noticeably better - acceleration will take 11.8 seconds, and the maximum speed is frozen at 190 km per hour. Such characteristics, coupled with unpretentiousness, ensured this engine a prominent place under the Skoda hood.

The 1.8-liter also became one of the most popular Octavia engine with 150 horses. It already has 20 valves, an injector and a turbocharger. Peak power of this Skoda unit located at 5,700 rpm, but an impressive thrust of 210 “newtons” is available in the range from 1,750 to 4,600 rpm. The dynamics of this Tour engine are excellent - only 8.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is considerable - 215 km per hour. There are a lot of similar Octavia models on the secondary market, but they are also rated quite highly.

The list of petrol engines on the Tour ends with a 2-liter, injection engine. It does not have a turbine, which provides a power of 115 horses, available at 5,200 rpm, but the maximum torque is not bad - 170 Nm, and they are available at the bottom - at 2,400 rpm. Its dynamics are average - 11 seconds to 100 km/h, as well as its maximum speed is not the greatest - 198 km per hour.

Diesel engines

All Tour solar-eating units have the same volume - 1.9 liters, but their design and performance are significantly different, which determines different technical data.

Skoda comes first with the 1.9 SDI. It is distinguished by the absence of a turbine, direct injection diesel fuel, in-line layout and the presence of only 8 valves. The very small power of 68 horsepower, moreover, available only at 4,200 rpm, cannot be compensated for and frankly weak traction Octavia has 133 Nm, although it is available almost immediately – at 2,200 rpm. Its dynamics are simply “no”, as well as its maximum speed – 18.9 seconds. up to one hundred and 161 km per hour.

Next up for the Tour is the 1.9 TDI. Its design is similar to that of the previous engine, with the exception of the presence of a turbine - thanks to it, the Tour engine produces more decent 90 horses at 4,000 rpm, as well as good thrust of 210 “newtons” at 1,900 rpm. As a result, the Octavia accelerates in 13.2 seconds, and its peak speed is 181 km per hour.

The penultimate Octavia turned out to be the same 1.9 TDI, but thanks to different settings it already produces 110 horses (at 4,150 rpm), coupled with 235 Nm of thrust (at 1,900 rpm). Its acceleration is a little more vigorous - 11.1 seconds. up to a hundred, and the maximum speed is 10 km higher (191 km per hour).

At the “diesel pinnacle” of Skoda is the 1.9 TDI, but with a herd of 130 horses, supplemented by a huge torque of 310 Newtons. His dynamic characteristics very good - 9.7 seconds. for acceleration, and another 207 km/h maximum possible speed.

As for fuel consumption, for petrol versions Tour it does not exceed 11 liters in the city (for the most powerful turbocharged engine 1.8 liters). Other modifications “eat” noticeably less. They stand apart and are very economical diesels Octavia. As a rule, their consumption does not exceed 7 liters in urban conditions. With 55 liter fuel tank for the Tour this gives a significant power reserve.

Gearboxes

With a Skoda gearbox everything is much simpler. Almost all models were equipped with a “mechanics”, and everywhere except the 1.9 TDI version with 130 horses, it was 5-speed. Only in the diesel version the box has 6 gears. Besides, Skoda model It was equipped with a 4-band automatic transmission; it was not installed everywhere. Owners of the Tour with automatic transmission are petrol engines with 102, 115 and 150 horsepower, as well as a 90-horsepower diesel engine. However, this box far from ideal both in terms of efficiency and reliability.

Suspension

The Skoda chassis is strong, chassis absorbs bumps well, prevents excessive body roll and provides sufficient ride comfort. This is thanks to the traditional design with McPherson struts at the front and torsion beam, which is on the rear axle. This is complemented disc brakes Octavia at the front (on some versions they are ventilated), as well as drum or disc at the rear (depending on the specific modification).

As for the drive, it is front-wheel drive, but 1.8-liter Tour versions can be all-wheel drive, equipped Haldex coupling, which is able to transmit up to half the torque to rear axle. Skoda's power steering is a hydraulic mechanism.

Bottom line

As you can see, technical Octavia data do not represent anything outstanding. However, thanks to the widest range of engines, different types Gearbox and drive, as well as the huge trunk of the Tour, multiplied by the average size, Skoda was able to become a truly iconic car.

Skoda Octavia Tour this car became a real bestseller in the CIS, thanks to its availability, reliability, comfort and presentability appearance, which remains relevant to this day. The Skoda Octavia Tour is available in two body styles: station wagon and liftback. It is the second type that has gained popularity in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and neighboring countries. In Europe, station wagons are traditionally more popular.

The Skoda Octavia Tour has been produced since 1998, but its roots go back to the middle of the last century. The model became the successor to the Skoda 440 “Spartak”, the production of which was stopped in 1955. Already in 1959, the first Octavia rolled off the assembly line. Over 12 years, more than 280 thousand cars were produced. The model took an active part in the rally, some of the races were won.

In 1996, three years after the collapse of Czechoslovakia, new story models, and in 1998 the first Skoda Octavia Tour was released. February 2004 was marked by the release of the millionth car in the series. The concern produced the most corrosion-resistant bodies among all competitors, which caused a huge surge in popularity in Russia. The secret was hidden in the galvanization of the metal.

Production of the first generation ended in 2010, having lasted 16 years. The Skoda Octavia Tour continued to be produced for a small circle of countries, including Ukraine and the Russian Federation, even when it was replaced modern modification in 2004 - PQ35 platform, second generation. The reason for this is its high popularity in these regions. Oktavia-II repeated the success of its predecessor and continues to be the heart of the brand.

  • Assembly traditionally takes place in the Czech Republic, Russia, Slovakia, Kazakhstan, India, Ukraine and Poland - there are no customs duties. Which significantly reduces the cost of a car in these countries.

These are one of the few regions where you can buy a Skoda Octavia Tour 2008 or 2010. But, unfortunately, this model is not in great demand among collectors.

Specifications

Both domestic and foreign car owners note the enormous capacity of the trunk in the liftback body - the compartment lid opens along with the rear window. This design allows you to fold more things and, which is important for many, place oversized cargo eg dog kennels, four tires or baby stroller, bicycle. The trunk volume of the liftback is 528 liters, in the station wagon – 1328.
