Engines

The replacement was made near the house on a flat area (everything is as it should be, a board, etc.). When removing the wheel, I washed the suspension and all the levers there and the like (after inspecting all the boots, rubber bands, etc.) upon inspection, a couple of defects were discovered: 1) the boot on the ball was torn. 2) a protective plate (aluminum) above the muffler ) was half broken and rattled, hitting him.
The ball was replaced the next day, the work process took about 40 minutes, one of the studs turned (I had to turn to a Bulgarian friend, and with him we sorted out the head of the stud). The ball went through 70,000 tons, not the original, I installed it again, not the original (I took it on the road in a spare parts store on a trip to the south, there was a small knock somewhere, but I couldn’t determine where or what, but that’s where the dog was buried) I sinned on the left, since my dear one is still standing there, but it turned out to be quite the opposite). The knocking seems to have disappeared after profile 50 in the summer, winter 65 - the suspension became much softer, those holes and joints that were felt on profile 50 are now not even noticeable)

Winter has arrived in our region and the mileage has just approached 150,000 thousand.
I bought oil and a filter. I took the oil from Toyota 5w20 SN in an iron can (green) for 2,300 rubles. I wanted to take 0w20, but I thought about it and decided to use this oil, they say they will have 0w16 soon..
When replacing, there was a difficulty in removing the filter, before that it was unscrewed with a gas wrench)), with average effort, but at this moment it didn’t work, I went and bought a puller in the form of a chain... the option didn’t work) I wanted to put sandpaper on it, but decided not to bother one place... I went for another puller, gave this one away, and took the so-called crab from 65 mm... I fitted it there and wala: it came loose...
Further, according to the knurled diagram... I poured the old oil into an empty canister: I wrote in one topic about oil that there is no consumption) I look in the can, and about 500 grams is not enough... but I think I can attribute all this to the trip to the South, the engine it wasn't sweet...
I checked the front suspension (a small knock appeared again), the fluids and put everything back together.
When I was screwing the protection on, one nut came loose, I screwed it on and it seemed to be holding, I’ll keep an eye on it... I also bought a blanket (auto-warmth), tucked it up and fitted it like it was original: now I’ll have the whole winter to test this miracle.
Moreover, a small howl appeared when turning to the right, so I still can’t figure out whether it’s the electric amplifier or something in the suspension... The operation moved on..

Replacement windshield

I finally got there: to the windshield (as people say lobar).
The process was, of course, not an easy one: the majority wanted cheaper and better quality. For about a week I called companies that deal with this procedure... I also had the conditions that the glass would be in stock, out of 15 companies, only 2-3 had it in stock . I stopped at an office located on Vodoprovodnaya, the plan was to do the whole thing in a day and for about 7 thousand... But everything turned out to be not so fast, just cheap. The glass was chosen in Bor, when it was brought in it damn it burst, we went to get the second one to another city (4-5 days passed), and the second glass turned out to be defective (crack at the bottom). Afterwards, it was decided to order China for 5200, 700 rubles more expensive than Bor, another week of waiting and it arrived)).
I wanted it to be quick, but it turned out as always))
I left the car in the evening, picked it up in the morning, installed it on 5k, kept the original rubber band, etc. It took about 12 days, the amount of glass was 5200 + installation 2500 + saved rubber bands 1000 + processing + 300 rubles, it turned out a little more than planned.

Winter has passed and it’s time to prepare the car for summer use. I bought oil, as usual, in a Toyota 5w30 iron can (for the summer), and a filter. I also decided to change the oil in the box (I had previously filled it with Ennios GL-5). After removing the engine protection, it was discovered that the engine sump and gearbox were covered in oil! Having removed the plastic cover from the box, it was clear that the engine seal had leaked (smell of oil, etc.). The oil change was canceled and I was thinking about repairs.....
Through a friend I found a service station that has the spare parts in stock that I need (oil seal, clutch kit), and at the same time replacing drive seals on the box and stabilizer bushings.
Having removed the box, we got to the hero of the occasion, yes it was him: the same tsuka seal). The clutch would still be ok, but the release lever was already jammed (there is a hydraulic clutch there).
They brought spare parts, the clutch turned out to be from the previous body (the disc and basket are the same, but the release lever is different) and the stabilizer bushings are also different - they selected it this way because of their fault.
We ordered the bearing separately, we ordered the clutch from the previous body and it turned out cheaper. At the end of the week, the spare parts should arrive at Sto, in short, I wanted the best and quickly, but it turned out as always)) and the cost of the repair will be 6000 rubles. + spare parts about 16000-17000 (clutch kit 14, oil seals, bushings 3 t.r.).
About the good: I installed summer set wheels, I tweaked them a bit (painted them inside).
So I’ll wait for spare parts and repairs, and continue to clock up the kilometers. :)

I ordered a new one (in the original there was an AISHI with the Toyota brand, it cost around 3000 rubles and bought fresh coolant 6 liters. The replacement took a little more than 30 minutes. The fluid was like new, there was no need to change it.

After restyling, the third generation Toyota Avensis has more sharpness in design and “look”, and also some changes have occurred technical changes. We started getting acquainted with the updated car in the vicinity of Nice, and continued in Ukraine, where the 2.0-liter Avensis with a CVT easily carried us along already familiar roads, demonstrating its adaptability to them.

In France, we tested the Toyota Avensis D-4D with a turbodiesel, which has high hopes in Europe. However, this Avensis is not offered in Ukraine. We only have available petrol versions. And as soon as the new cars went on sale, we immediately got a sedan updated by the designers with the most powerful 2.0-liter gasoline engine and automatic transmission. There is a sense of sharpness in everything, which is what the Toyota team wanted.

Managing the entertainment center has become more convenient and modern. In all versions, except for the base one for our country, Sol, an infotainment system appeared on the center console. In general, the interior has retained its individuality and is completely recognizable. It does not imitate older models, which is found in other manufacturers. And Avensis doesn’t try to seem cooler than it actually is. True, and especially modern design you can't name it. There is no zest in it, but everything is done soundly and with high quality.
