I was lucky, the driver was “handy”, he looked after the car, there were no problems in the first months, although I drive a little, mostly in the city, I drove about 20 thousand in a year (a total mileage of 150 thousand km). The car doesn't feel nimble, but it's still a truck. The 405 engine is faster and more powerful, but I’ve seen enough of how people struggle with new cars. Drive more quietly, as they say. I liked it: affordable spare parts on every corner (although the quality is still a lottery), a simple device allows you to do something if you press it and tinker with it yourself (I’ll make a reservation: 406th, carburetor). I really like the appearance of the GAZ 3302 “GAZelle”, I’m probably that notorious “lover”, when you wash it, sometimes you look at it sideways and want to stroke it (not everyone likes Van Gogh either, by the way). I didn’t like it: it breaks down regularly, but believe me, no, I still love it, but this is already a character trait. And the loaded GAZelle does not brake very well, to put it mildly. At one time the gearbox was naughty - it stalled, if you roll from “high” to “neutral”, or turn it on low, or in front of a traffic light in a panic you press the pedal - it’s “oaky”. The car was purchased from a single owner. There were no traces of paint after repair. Under a load (1.5 - 2 tons) there is clearly not enough power, sometimes even before an unnoticeable hill you have to engage 3rd gear and “crawl” at a speed of 60 - 70 km/h, it doesn’t want to go faster. “Empty” does not go faster than 100. It’s very warm in the GAZ 3302 cabin. Oil (“semi-synthetic”) does not leak or leak. I added about 3 liters of antifreeze over the entire mileage. Of course, the car cannot be compared with foreign cars. Even with Chinese ones. It is clear that the GAZ 3302 is not designed for long runs and does not want to start after -20. It is clear that this is “yesterday”, and the carburetor and the absence of power steering are generally an anachronism. But GAZelle simply carries cargo here and there and does not bother with repairs.

As a result, we purchased GAZ 3302 GAZelle with different bodies. The Cummins diesel engine is excellent. Drivers praise the torque and low consumption fuel. Those who say that this engine (it is assembled in China) has low reliability know nothing about the Cummins company or its engines. Don’t believe those who shout about “our diesel fuel” on every corner. The cars run on “our diesel fuel” and do not cause any complaints. None at all. The new cars have galvanized cabs - not a single yellow dot yet. New salon GAZ 3302 on the “Business” version is very good. In general, we were surprised that the plant was actually working on the car - they thought that now the same GAZelles were rolling off the assembly line as 10 years ago and were glad that they were wrong. The car is from 2008, was bought new at the dealership and is in the same hands. GAZ 3302 - almost standard car. Its difference from the main gray mass is that the awning was raised to 2 meters (the arcs were built up independently, and the awning was altered in the studio), an LPG was installed, all-terrain tires were installed at the rear, a towbar with a socket was added, and leaf springs were added. During the operation of the GAZ 3302, and again this is only 4 years, the throttle valve failed several times. Changed electronic pedal gas, it didn’t help much, it glitches periodically. The stocking of the rear axle burst and, consequently, fell off right while moving. The boards in the body rotted and dried out; they had to be re-laid, processed and sewn up with 2 mm metal. The steering wheel was changed. Crosses on the steering linkage, but that didn’t help much either. The new crosspieces are also loose; we couldn’t find any good ones, although we replaced these crosspieces several times. In short, there were enough breakdowns during operation and most breakdowns are simply not acceptable for a 2008 car. The resource of components and spare parts is very small, the painting and especially the preparation are simply disgusting. The assembly is bad. The curtains of the blowers (air direction) are all, without exception, torn from the guides, and not only on our car, but on almost all GAZelles. And what a surprise I was when I found a repair kit of these same curtains in a car store. That is, the manufacturer knew this, but did not want to fix the problem for as long as 4 years. Now they have built a new torpedo at GAZelle Business, I don’t know much about it yet, they say it’s much better, we’ll see, and then time will tell.

Pros - price issue. If you need a light-duty truck, then the GAZ 3302 is cheaper than the GAZelle, in my opinion, nothing has been invented yet. But if you buy a car for long-distance driving, then it is better to take a 5-7 year old foreign car and drive around, caring for and looking after it. And in the city and in the region, in principle, a GAZelle will be suitable. Stove operation (for 3 local cabin) enough with a reserve, I don’t know how to use a van. The seats are not bad, but if you take the already beaten up Terrano from twenty years ago, then the choice will fall again not in the direction of GAZelle. The steering wheel is cool, comfortable, soft, and even looks nice. The gas mileage is very impressive for the money. I’ve been working on the machine for a year and a half, and overall I’m happy with everything. Of course, I had to repair it, and often had to do it myself. The car is available for garage repair, with the exception of the engine; it is better not to get into it without special knowledge. As you yourself understand, the car has already covered a lot of mileage. The first thing I had to replace was leaking radiator pipes, I bought cheap ones, they lasted less than a year when the rubber dried out and cracked, probable cause such rapid wear I purchased a non-original spare part. I had to change it again, but this time I bought original factory parts. Why do new spare parts become unusable so quickly? I see the reason that, in an effort to save money, I bought fakes, most likely Chinese. When I switched to the originals, the problem disappeared. The electric motor had to be replaced. After this, the problem of airing the cooling system arose, I found a hint on the Internet: due to poor-quality antifreeze, the channel of the fitting to expansion tank. Then the battery stopped charging, the generator failed, fortunately there was no need to change it, replacing the pulley and brushes helped. For some reason, new parts break much more often, it seems that I come across fakes. Well, what can I say, I used to buy spare parts at the auto market, and they sell all sorts of things there. Lately I've been trying to buy parts from... official store, where they sell spare parts from the GAZ plant. They are of better quality and last longer. Not long ago the ignition failed, the spark disappeared, the coil was covered. But I immediately bought the original one, now there are no problems with it.

So, I changed the oil every 10-11 thousand km, bought 2 x 5 liters of Lukoil 15w40 mineral water. I tried Sibneft - it didn’t work. From replacement to replacement, I added just 5 liters plus 5 when replacing. I syringed the kingpin twice, then forgot, then hammered it. I didn’t adjust the wheel bearings, at first I didn’t know, then I jammed them. Driving experience of the GAZ 3302 - the cabin is spacious, you can sleep at full height. The seating position is comfortable, high, I never knew about lower back pain. The ergonomics are not very good, there are solutions from the Second World War (light switch), the plastic is wooden, the panel does not rattle. There is not much noise in the cabin, at the same level as the Volga. Engine: mine loved to eat, but didn’t like to drive. I drove well on petrol, not so much on gas. HBO, of course, needed to be configured, but that’s not for me. Gearbox: switched on clearly, there were repairs. Cardan: changed once suspension bearing. Rear axle: didn't do anything at all. Suspension: the shock absorbers were changed before me, I changed one leaf on the spring, there is nothing else there. Steering: the crosspiece on the steering cardan was killed, hands did not reach it. Brakes: they seem to be there, I preferred to think that they are not there. When the GAZ 3302 is driving, it’s a pleasure to drive, but when the brain starts to get powdery, you want to throw it off a cliff.

I bought the car new from the showroom in 2012. I have my own company, which specializes in metal structures and polycarbonate, and it was for the needs of which the GAZ 3302 was purchased. Nothing creaks, rattles or rings inside. Sometimes you can’t even believe that this is a Russian car; with the windows closed, you can hardly hear any noise from the street. One has only to open the window slightly, and the thrill disappears from the bumps on the metal sides, the noise of the wind and everything else. The power steering is pleasantly light, it feels like driving not a truck, but a car. Pleasant green illumination of the instrument cluster and control buttons on the panel. I also liked the climate control unit; I have never seen a system for selecting the direction of airflow and its strength as in a GAZelle. Now about the most painful place of the GAZelle Business is its engine. I'm not a technical expert, so I won't say. exact model, like UMZ-4216, if I’m not mistaken, 102 hp, UAZ engine in general. For a two-ton car with a potential load, another plus ton is simply nothing. Even empty, this car won’t go over 130 on a hill. Average cruising speed empty car - 90-100 km/h. With a load, if 80 is already good. The engine is sorely lacking. One thing that saves us is that 90% of the car drives around the city and its outskirts; it rarely goes on long trips. Secondly, hired drivers do not drive, so there is less chance of being exposed to an accident. But where are those old ZMZ 150-horsepower engines? Those GAZelles ran well, although it was a pain to work on them without power steering. And no matter how funny it may seem, the main reason for pride became main problem– in the generator and pump belt system, an air conditioning compressor roller and the lowest transition roller were added, which became this sore. As for the rest of the technical parts, the GAZ 3302 cannot be said to be reliable, but it cannot be said to be a bucket either. A year after the purchase, the starter was replaced under warranty. By the way, the warranty was serviced only up to 40 thousand kilometers, then they switched to self-service. They changed the generator and set it to 120A. We changed the gearbox oil, because the factory oil in the winter turned into jelly at -15 and the car would only start with the clutch pedal depressed. We change the oil every 10,000 km.

Advantages : good work machine. Comfortable cabin. Reliable if you look after it.

Flaws : minor.
